Why not simply do 8 games like the Big 10?
The SEC/ACC/Big 12 are playing 10 games + conference champ game, and the Big 10 8 games + conference champ game. With the Pac 12 only playing 6 games + Pac 12 Champ game, virtually zero chance a Pac 12 makes the 4 team playoff.

With both the Pac-12 and Mountain West set to start end of October, early November, is the Big Sky not that far behind?

FCS football is another thing entirely. Outside of NDSU and maybe Montana, no one really makes any money on it. And with the additional testing and logistics necessary, it's bound to lose even more money. FBS schools can play and want to play because of the TV money - it's substantial. If they weren't making boatloads of cash playing then they wouldn't.

You mean P5. The G5 aren’t making boatloads of cash if they’re making any at all with the testing & logistics costs, few butts in seats, and limited P5 $$ games.

Yup, only the P5 make the big money. Gotta hand it to the G5, though, they're hanging in there. They seem pretty desperate to not have to fall back to being FCS. Even UMass is going to throw together a season.

Each Sun Belt school gets about half a million in TV money a year and over a million from the CFP. You forfeit both of those with no season.

That's not boatloads of cash, most of which will be wiped away with the testing protocols and such. Not to mention lower revenues at the gate.

If Sun Belt and MAC can have a season with all the testing protocols, there is no reason the FCS can't. Problem is the FCS won't.

Will television networks be willing to give FCS programs lucrative contracts in 2019?
Will any FBS program schedule and pay a guarantee of $650k+ to an FCS opponent?

Even if the FCS could allow full capacity fans into the gate, few programs may have a chance. I mean like three.
The margins are razor thin.

Testing protocols don't cause millions of dollars either.

If we aren't back to a full schedule in 2021 FCS will be dead.

I don't know why I'm yelling

FCS will be fine so long as school admins are still willing to pony up the cash to sponsor FB. I always figured the P5 would play as there is just too much money at stake to not play. But everyone else, meh. Hell, the MAC basically said testing was too costly as a reason for shutting down. I'm not sure where they are finding the cash for testing to reopen, but good luck to them.

MAC: "We can't play football, testing is too expensive!"

Big Ten: "I've changed my mind, we're uncancelling football!"

Pac: "Me too!"

Mountain West: "Me too!"

MAC: "I changed my mind it's not to expensive game on!"

Yep. 257 Division I teams 2020-2021 (130 FBS and 127 FCS) accorimg to Wiki). In a few years maybe those numbers are pared down some, with a couple G5s oullibg a Idaho, couple more just dropping football, and a bunch of FCS dropping football, but I still see the # of FBS remaining in the 120s, and FCS at well over 100..

In other news water is wet, 89 is a stick in the mud and Twerp fans have no room to comment on any other team's uniforms. :D

Only meth heads and pussies would do that.

And the Ohana uniform could give an inside edge in recruiting Samoans.

How does one handle losing to a team like that I wonder. :coffee: :D

If one uniform in a season (or every couple of seasons) makes the difference in what school you go to, I feel sorry for our youth. Especially for a team that is known for having a uniform for every occasion.

Flashy uniforms don't add scores on the scoreboard.

Ganny (talk about boring uni’s) likes to point out that innovation is the key to our economy. Why do you hate America?

I blame it on the meth pumping up the adrenaline of the neanderthals living on the frozen tundra of Canada's nutsack, look forward to basketball season and appreciate living in civilization. :poke:

I don't think the uniforms make a difference in the final decision. I think they help get you in the conversation.

Don't be a uniform bigot. I love most of Oregon's uniforms but I also love Penn State's.
