Impressive Smith-esque Comeback

Post by SuperHornet »

A Florida State QB who suffered a Joe Theismann-like or Alex Smith-like injury while with UCF has completed an improbable comeback against FBS #9 Notre Dame. McKenzie Milton was injured more than 1,000 days ago in a scene so scary that nobody wants to watch the footage (hence the Theismann and Smith comparisons). The lower leg bone was completely dislocated from the thigh bone, cutting off blood flow; that was complicated by nerve damage. The actual fact was even worse than the video, as there was talk that the leg might have to be amputated. He was cleared earlier this year, but another was named the starter. The Mayo Clinic calls this a miracle, as nobody with a severe knee dislocation like this has ever returned to the field. After the starter's helmet came off, he was removed per current rules, and Milton came in to the astonishment of his family. Milton responded with a 22-yard laser strike, and remained in, leading 10-point comeback in the last 9 minutes of the game that ultimately fell short in OT. Nobody on the sideline was more excited than Jordan Travis, the QB Milton replaced.
