I saw speculation today that has one 40-team megaconference that's essentially a combo of a twenty-team Big Ten and a twenty-team SEC, both divided into four five-team divisions. The whole thing was disgustipating to me....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Having USC and Rutgers in the same football conference might make fiscal sense but I don't think it makes sense for Olympic sports. FBS Football would be better off with football-only conferences similar to the MVFC. That would allow for the money-focused mega conferences without impacting regional rivalries and reasonable travel costs for the other sports.

It's going to be interesting to see what changes the DI Transformation committee recommends.

IMO, one thing that's unprecedented about this era is that there's a very real underclass *within* the Power 5, and they're probably going to be against anything that will amplify the SEC and B1G money advantage like unlimited on-field coaches.
