Top 10 ranking of the best pass rushers in FBS. Pains me that TWO of them are former JMU.

At # 5, Kamara, a former FCS recruit, 2021 signee (redshirted) at JMU. 2 standout seasons, All Sunbelt in 2023 before being past of the 2024 mass exodus to Indiana with Cignetti.
2024 stats: 47 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

Kamara was one of Indiana's 27 transfers last season, joining Curt Cignetti in Bloomington after leaving James Madison. His 47 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 10 sacks had him tabbed as a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award.

He became the first Indiana defensive lineman since Greg Middleton in 2007 to earn All-American status, and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors. He has improved in every season he has played, and the expectation is for that to continue in 2025.
At #9, O’Neil was a 2 year standout at LIU (2023 FCS All American & Buck Buchanon award finalist). 2024 1st team All Sunbelt at JMU.

2024 stats (with James Madison): 52 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks.

O'Neill is a success story for the 2020s, having worked his way up from his hometown of Staten Island to the Big Ten. He'll get a chance to prove himself as one of college football's best pass rushers in 2025. The 6-3, 255-pounder began his career at Long Island University, producing 44.5 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks in two seasons with the Sharks before transferring to James Madison and becoming an immediate star in the Sun Belt Conference.

At JMU, he ranked fourth nationally with 13 sacks among 18.5 tackles for loss, and he produced an elite pressure rate of 15.1%. He could finish his career with more than 75 TFLs, an incredibly rare feat. Between O'Neill and Ohio's Bradley Weaver, Rutgers landed two of the Group of 5's best defensive ends this offseason and should be rewarded with one of the Big Ten's more fearsome pass rushes.[/quote]

College Football Playoff moving to straight seeding for 2025-26 postseason
https://sports.yahoo.com/article/predic ... 526MOa_Y9o

Long read. Talks:
-Straight seeding and how last year would have been seeded with it.
Image
-Revenue sharing
-Expansion to 16 teams with a big fight among the P4 over format. 4-4-2-2-1 with 3 at large format preferred by the SEC & Big X vs the 4-4-3-3-1 with 1 At large format preferred by the ACC & Big 12.
-Future of the P4 Conference Champ games.

Delaware starts their new life in FBS in a week from today. Still playing an FCS team (Delaware St) in the first one, but just a minor detail. Go Hens!

As an aside, with my son at Navy as a midshipman (second year there, a Youngster as they call 3rd class midshipmen), and with no conflict between Navy and UD home games this year, my goal is to be at 12 football games, in person, this year. Not a bad way to spend the fall.

Actually going to be 14 games live in person (been to 2 already so 12 to go) - I already have Army/Navy tickets and I'm going to the Navy/Temple game in Philly as well. Just home games in Annapolis and Newark so no flying necessary.

Gotta love the blowout of UNC last night. Watching Belicheat get exposed is great for any football fan. Without getting to videotape the opposing sidelines during the game to make adjustments after stealing their signs, or without having Tom Bady around to constantly bail them out, Belicheat doesn't have much to offer. It's like when he was the Browns coach, without the illegal stealing or HOF QB, all over again! Absolute fraud. I'm not sure he's in Chapel Hill after this season.

Got season tickets for the 21st straight season, but the portal/pay to play free for all has soured me. Looking at only making 3 home/1 away (@ L‘ville this Fri).

Looking back most I ever made were Frisco years.
2016 12 of 15
2017 12 of 15
2019 11 of 16
Never flew more than once, Frisco each year.

Hens draw 14,000 for their midweek game against MTSU. I know they make more money from TV than tickets, but that's a bad look... almost as bad as the BLUE Hens wearing black and grey uniforms. :ohno:

Well, 14k was only 5k less than the last home game we had on Friday night, and we had lost two games in a row leading into the game last night that certainly reduced the enthusiasm we saw, for instance, after the win over UConn. But that crowd last night was substantially better than crowds on Saturdays in the years leading up to this year, so the fact that we had a better crowd, last night, on a Wednesday night, after a two game losing streak, than we had at any non-Parent's Day over the past 10 years, points to the fact that we made a long overdue good decision to move up. And the black and grey uniforms were widely cheered by most people under the age of 50. Saw tons of people last night wearing merch they bought that was the midnight edition the team was wearing. Can certainly say the enthusiasm in the crowds has been substantially improved since the FBS shift and even last night the student section was mostly filled, which 4 games into the season to still be this filled is probably something I've never seen and I've been going to games for 53 years. Definitely a lot more fun in Delaware Stadium these days.

Finding a way to not have a 4 hour game would be good though. Certainly the tv timeouts (it was on ESPN2) were a little longer than normal. But the officiating throughout CUSA has left a lot to be desired, and last night's crew couldn't have taken longer on reviews and collaborations. Just a brutal ref crew last night in regards to that.

I'm with 89 and didn't care for the uniforms but I'm over 50.

I am a fan of Oregon's 5 gazillion different uniform combinations so how's that for a contradiction?

Such a bandwagon gimmick wearing all black when it’s not your school colors. Same with the home ‘White Out’. Never liked JMU doing it. And then the gray :suspicious: If you‘re going to do the black uni gimmick, at least incorporate some of your school colors in the #s/trim.

Your crowd looked not bad for a midweek game. Betting more than we’ll see on Tuesday night @ TX St.

Are ya‘ll going to go back to playing on Saturdays this season? What‘s that 3 weekday games in a row? Have to appease the G5 mid week scheduling gods to get on ESPN2. Saturdays it’s like Pawn Stars “ESPNU, best I can do.“
