Since it seems there are a few fans out, and there is a men's thread, I will get this one going.

No Big Sky in the ranknings. A weak conference - women don't play much soccer in the Rockies? A small recruiting base, and the Big Sky doesn't put much money into it. On the other hand, Oregon does play a lot of soccer. U. of Portland, with no football, is able to concentrate on basketball, volleyball and soccer and it shows. Women's soccer there is ranked No. 5. Portland is going to have an MLS team in 2011. Looks like PSU is going to try to capitalize on that and give Portland a run for their money. We beat OSU yesterday, which doesn't mean much - OSU's at the bottom of the Pac-10 - but still, looks promising. We'll se how they do against Boisse State today. We've got a lot of freshmen. Or freshwomen. Whatever.

Congrats on beating OSU - always good to beat any Pac 10 team.
The Pacific NW is turning into a soccer hotbed.

Cheap-shotting St. Mary's had better not be on the list. I had thought that distinction only applied to their football team, but I was wrong. St. Mary's thugs took out the UOP goalie AND applied a freaking drop toe hold against UOP last week, both with no foul calls. St. Mary's was getting away with murder, while UOP was getting not only ticky-tack fouls, but made up fouls. And this was SUPPOSED to be a freaking UOP home game.
Of course, forwards not closing the deal didn't help much. The UOP fullbacks were the real heroes of a game stolen by the zebras.
St. Mary's 1, UOP 0.
