Cheapshots a Boise player who let him hear it after he cocked off about Oregon kicking BSU's ass... and then lost the game...
just a pathetic showing from Blount...

LeGarrett Blount---Class Act (I mean Class Ass!!!)
That is the difference between the Duck program and the Beaver program (and the Viking program) right there.
Duck motto "Give us your tired, your poor, your troubled players yearning for another chance!"
I am truly sick that this program represents the great state I live in! Things need to change!

Oh spare me. Blount is a thug but not representative of the Ducks.
What a short memory you have from the Dennis Erickson days....You know exactly what I mean.

Duck program today is where the Beaver program was then. Blount is your starting tailback for Oregon. How much more represetation do you need? You're right, Erickson era and Bellotti/Kelly era are the same, win at any cost and try to bring a national championship to the state. Riley and Glanville both would not tolerate this. Ducks will call this an "internal matter"...you know what I mean.
Two class programs from the state of Oregon are playing in Corvallis on Saturday. Ducks should take notes.

Kelly has said that he didn't see what started it.
Blount has issued an apology and has said that it won't happen again.
Obviously this whole issue will be swept under the rug and forgotten by the time the Ducks get back to Eugene tonight.
The Blazers needed a team makeover to regain the trust of all Oregonians. Ducks makeover is now long overdue.
And these thugs will continue to wear uniforms with the name of my state as they take on opposing players and fans, teammates, and a whole police force (on national television even) and I have no choice in the matter but smile and hope to celebrate a national championship someday.

I do not think Blount will continue to play - he should get a multi-game suspension at least. But I am not sure where your point is on how this has been traditionally reflected on the entire team, you don't really have basis for that other than *sorry* sour grapes for Oregon getting the majority of the state's exposure......which is only fair considering they bring an overwhelming majority of $$$$ to the state.

And not that i at all condone what LGB did....but that BSU player coming and grabbing him by the pad and getting into his face well -- I'd have a hard time not knocking his sorry ass out either. LGB sure didn't make himself or UO look good, but it'll take years for me to ever consider BSU's players a bunch of darlings, especially after the cheap shot that knocked Masoli out of the game (by the same player for Boise who was later ejected for pulling the same sh*t)
for those of you who don't know - Boise's cheap shots were the reason for all the trash talk this year.

I'm surprised there wasn't a fight between other players. I guess everyone else is more disciplined. They got their hits out during the game.

Hey, how come no one here is calling out the big ol' Boise State player for falling down like a little bitch after he got slapped on the chin by LGB???

It's hard to have to eat crow, but you shouldn't talk sh*t if you don't want to hear it later.

The coach pushed him (unintentionally) into the punch.

All I have to say about this subject is THIS: When the citizens of Oregon have to point to Oregon STATE as their bastion of good taste sportsmanship, you KNOW that state is FUCKED.
OSU student body, in general is the most classless, tasteless, rudest, most obnoxious bunch of assholes ever to walk the face of the earth.

The Boise player threw some smack in Blount's face for cocking off about "whipping Boise's ass"... and Blount deserved to hear it... it's not like he's known for being a stand up guy otherwise...
as for the Boise player dropping... a sucker punch to the jaw would do that to the toughest guys...

Actually grabbing him on the pad like that as he is standing there talking to teammates is more than just throwing some smack...there's reason Coach Peterson came over to grab him right before the punch....
LGB ran his mouth and obviously couldn't back it up. And like I said he took it way too far and yes looks like a thug. But man I'd have a hard time holding back from knocking that d-bag out myself.

You are missing my point, my friend, because you think I am here on this thread talking as a Portland State fan. I am an Oregon taxpayer, and last year the Oregonian reported that Bellotti is/was the highest paid state employee, even earning more than the governor. As a receipiant of those state taxdollars, Oregon, as well as Oregon State and Portland State have a responsibility to recruit athletes who will not embarass themselves, nor the hard working taxpayers (like myself) who have to watch these athletes represent our great state. I can withhold money from the Blazers if I don't like the product by not going to the games or buying Blazer apparel. I don't have that option in regards to Oregon because I do have to pay my taxes.
Right now, the only exposure the football program is generating is what happened last night. This episode, along with the DUI's, Springfield speed races, and campus assaults, will all be taken care of "internally". Blount might be suspended by the conference, but he is too important of a piece of the Ducks mythical run to a national championship to be suspended by the team. Bellotti says he will "talk", but at this point, talk is cheap, considering how Bellotti has dealt with bad situations before.

Yet I oddly didn't see you on here with Coach Bone's boys representing PSU, Oregon, and heck going by your logic the entire country so well on their little trip to Mexico, or OSU baseball players firing bullets into a house, etc etc. The only difference here is that it was seen on television by a national audience, it does not speak fully of the program (granted it doesn't show it in the best light) but you should know better than throwing stones at glass houses....
And btw what campus assaults? And the player with the DUI was kicked off the team.....Unlike Boise State's Atkinson this summer (or JD Quinn at UM)

Think about this, you are at a home game and you see an opposing player throw a punch at your player. As a fan, tell me you are going to hold back and not give it to that player as he is escorted to the locker room. If all Blount did was throw the punch at the Boise player, I'd be somewhat OK. But to go after your teammates, Boise fans (classless, yes, but tell me you would not act the same if a PSU player punched a Griz player), coaches and police.
Preliminary reports from Eugene is that Blount will be suspended for two games, which means he will be reinstated for all Pac-10 contests.
