Re: Week 9 CAA Prediction Thread
Elon @ SBU 24-10
SBU gets out of the CAA cellar with a win at home.
URI @ UNH 35-17
UNH, who will likely miss the playoffs for the 1st time in 12 years after back to back road losses @ W&M and UD, will bounce back at home against a bad URI team.
UD @ TU 24-17
TU has look good the last 2 weeks in winning @ SBU who was coming off of a bye, then taking care of VU at home. UD last week coming off a bye, was impressive over a UNH team on their 2nd straight road game. Key for UD will be stopping TU's battering ram RB Darius Victor. His 90 yd rushing per game avg is misleading because in Sept he went down early vs Elon and wasn't 100% vs JMU. Otherwise would be avg well over 100 ypg & #2 in the CAA in rushing. Going with the home team in the limp handshake game.
Albany @ UR 48-24
UR has a major let down vs a very depleted Albany at home that is coming off of a bye week. So instead of like 63-17 it won't be as much of a blowout..
JMU @ W&M 37-34
For JMU since the monster bad news of Vad Lee done for the season its been good news:
-W&M's all world LB Luke Rhodes still out.
-W&M's best WR Devonte Dedmon either out or not 100%.
-JMU gets best likely DL Simeyon Robinsonback from suspension.
Think JMU defense will bounce back somewhat and new JMU starter QB will do well but turn the ball over a couple of times in his 1st start and that & W&M special teams edge will be the difference..
Maine @ VU 21-17
Imagine if Maine wins this and JMU loses to W&M. Then Maine would be 4-4/4-1 & tied with W&M for 2nd place in the CAA. This game is basically a case of going with the home team..

I picked W&M to win but you're fooking nuts if you think JMU is only going to score 17 after no scoring less than 38 all season.89Hen wrote:Stony Brook 31 - Elon 13

Meh, I really don't spend much time coming up with those scores. I'll either be right or wrong.

Re: Week 9 CAA Prediction Thread
89Hen's score is similar to the 30 point win some are predicting for JMU. It isn't going to happen. It will be a high energy, playoff atmosphere, down to the wire type game in Williamsburg this weekend. I would be shocked if JMU scores only 17 points unless Zable gets 2 feet of water. Then, it might be 17-10.

villanova 24 - Maine 13We're not throwing a true fr back there. The new QB had a yr of JUCO followed by going on 2 seasons practicing in the Withers offense with some game experience. Heck in less than a qtr vs UR he put up 2 TDs. He's no Vad Lee but he's no stiff either. And he'll be working with a good OL, 2 stud RB, 4 healthy good receivers (was 5 but 1 hurt), and a pr of good TE, one All CAA. Heck, UD offense put up 17 (other 7 special teams) on W&M with no passing offense..
