I don't think we should have gotten a look for a seed over UTC, who owns the head to head. We did beat USC but the stars aligned for us on that one. I think the seeds are about right.

My only complaint is that because of regionalization, some teams have a much shorter row to hoe. The 6-5 WIU is starting out against the Pioneer champ. That might as well be a bye.

As noted by Kalm that's probably because they got out bid.

Which I understand, but I guess I'm just old fashioned, I believe that the # 1 teams deserves the best reward. And not get the short end of the stick while the 2nd and 3rd place teams get the better deals because of name and money

I agree. But I've always been a fan of teams down South and think we sometimes get hosed by the committee. I think Chattanooga and Citadel both had a gripe for a seed.

I like the seeds besides Richmond being in. The field of 16? Eh.

- I don't believe Richmond vs. W&M was a "win and you're seeded" game. I believe if W&M wins they are seeded, and if Richmond wins, great quality win, you're secure in the playoffs.

- 1-4 is seeded perfectly, McNeese deserved the #4 and nothing more due to SOS.

- Honestly thought that CSU would be seeded 5 or 6, and believe regionalization got them bumped to 8, by fear of plane ride for 3rd round for any team that comes out of that piece of the bracket. (I believe JSU or Chat are both bus ride trips from Charleston and Conway)

- A Coastal win probably would of had 2 Big South schools seeded.

- Fear of 3 Big South (looked down upon conference) schools in the playoffs got Liberty the boot, along with UND, for WIU, in the heavily favored MVFC (maybe they thought that was a gift to the conference for putting all of their teams on one side of the bracket? WRONG.)

- Would I replace Richmond with the Citadel? Not sure. Their resumes have kind of the same ring to it, I give Citadel a slight nod with an SEC win, 1 loss to FBS and 2 losses to Top 10 teams. Richmond has two wins over playoff teams but 2 questionable losses. (yes, this is one year I call a loss to UNH questionable, Richmond is their only good win, maybe Colgate)

- UT Chat is seeded no doubt without the loss to Mercer.

At the end of the day, I've seen much better brackets, and I've seen worse. But honestly I believe this is one of the worst. The committee really stressed saving money this year, thus we see a lot of rematches and potential rematches, and forced regionalization. Oh well, its playoff time in the FCS. Let's go boys.

Kinda intersting that the Big Sky really caught a break with regionalization. They are the most isolated of the conferences, yet none of their three teams are slated to meet in the round of 16. All four CAA's are slated to meet, both Southland, both Big South, four of five MVFC... for many years the Big Sky guys liked to complain that they always knocked each other out (a false claim BTW)... can't complain this year.

Oh yeah, drawing SDSU and the NDSU on the road is really "catching a break".

I think the stronger claim was that we weren't afforded as many opportunities to feast on PL and NEC teams in the playoffs as well as the regular season which lead to less victories...

UND OOC: Wyoming, Drake, NDSU
UNH: SJSU, CCSU, Colgate

1st Round Matchups:

I don;t know what that power ranking is but it can't be any good if it has Youngstown State above
Citadel Coastal Richmond Etc. etc.

Food for thought, when the Hens won the NC in 2003 they faced 10-1 SIU, 10-2 UNI, 12-1 Wofford and 15-0 Colgate. Just win. :coffee:

I'll bet SUU's p!$$ed that PSU got a seed and they didn't. The first-round matchup with SHSU, however, is reasonable. Too bad the "reward" is a trip to McNeese....
