Ah… the Triple-Option National Championship Game. Whoever can best execute the devil's offense will likely earn a relaxing, all-expenses paid vacation to… well, they'll have to go to Alabama. The Citadel did win the first meeting, but that result was fluky in some ways. Wofford outrushed the Bulldogs by more than 100 yards and it was actually 3 lost fumbles did them in. Despite that, however, the Terriers have the better turnover margin on the year. They also have noticeably better run defense and perhaps the best special teams in the nation, which actually makes me favor them to win this week's rematch in Charleston. The Citadel has shown a real knack for winning close games this year, though, so it's basically a coin flip.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
- Quarterbacks -- (push)
Running Backs - The Citadel
Receivers/TEs - Wofford
Offensive Line - The Citadel
Defensive Line - Wofford
Linebackers --- The Citadel
Secondary ---- (push)
Kicking ------ Wofford

Return Teams - (push)
Kickoffs ------ Wofford
- Wofford 20-17 The Citadel
