2009 predictions Nat'l Champs by division

Post by GoWCUCatamounts »

Okay, I know its early in the season but here are my predictions for the 2009 National champs by division

Div I-FBS: Texas. The natch EVERYONE wanted to see. UT vs. UF. Texas should win this in a close one.
Div I-FCS: As much as it pains me to say it Appalachian St. *gasp*
Div II: Grand Valley St; they're just to good in a division with not many big time D2 teams in my mind
Div III: I can't really put a for sure prediction on this one but I know its gonna be between Mt Union and Wisc-Whitewater :o :o :o :o

Welcome to the site Go. I am with dback. No idea about 2 or 3, but for I-FBS, I have to say the Gators (sorry TampaJag) and for FCS, I'd like to say Villanova, but I think AppState as well. :(

You don't need to know any others. Carroll is as far down the list as you need to go. ;) ;)

I play in D-III so I can say your prediction there is pretty goddamn good. It's ALWAYS the Mt. Union Football Factory or UW-Whitewater. BUT, there are a few teams in my conference (MIAC) that might have a legit shot at making it far this year, my school included.

Here's my top 5 for D-III
1. Mt. Union (OH)
2. UW-Whitewater (WI)
3. Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX)
4. Wheaton (IL)
5. Saint John's (MN)

Sorry, but if you wear purple in FCS, chances are you will not win NC...and if you wear purple with gold trim in SoCon, chances are you won't win a league game....

You got a problem with purple and gold? I can recall one Purple and Gold FCS team in the past 5 years that won a NC :winky:

FBS: Gators (I think they have a pretty easy schedule this year)
FCS: App State

Ohio State turns down players for academic reasons? Since when? Maurice Clarett comes to mind...

OSU does turn down players for academic and personal reasons. That Clarett was not one of them should give you some idea about the quality of the character of many of the players at Mt. Union.

I see no one is picking MN-Duluth for D-II even though they won it this past season and aren't losing much.

Is Rowan no longer a DIII contender? I've never really followed DIII, except the one time a year that the final game is played on ESPN, and I remember Rowan playing in the final quite a few times.
