McDowell entered the portal almost immediately after the title game. He initially committed to Temple, but then he backed out within the last month. I don't know if some agent gave him delusions of grandeur or what. At the time he entered the portal in January, the eGriz speculation consensus (for whatever that's worth) was that the coaches told him he wasn't likely to start next season.
