PORTST 30-45 UTC
IDA 26-28 UCD
MTST 37-17 IDST
MCNSE 28-26 WEB
SAC 16-34 NAU
CP 28-7 NOCO

  • NConf Record: 0-2
    Overall: 22-24

    vs. FCS: 0-2
    Overall: 17-12

Best Performance: (#14) UC Davis 28, (#4) Idaho 26 - The Aggies rally from an early 14-0 deficit by forcing 3 picks and getting perhaps the best performance of QB Miles Hastings's career (25/32, 248 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs against a very good defense).

Worst Performance: Northern Colorado 7, Cal Poly 28 - The Bears actually did reach triple-digit passing yardage in this one, but they also lost the ground game 290-87 to a Cal Poly team that had only cleared 200 rushing yards one other time since ditching the option at the beginning of the decade.

Most Surprising Result: Northern Arizona 34, (#10) Sacramento St. 16 - The Lumberjack defense forces 3 turnovers and holds the potent Hornet offense to 231 total yards as they get their first top-10 win in 6 years.

Southland

HCU 27-24 INST
LAM 14-34 UCA
SELU 33-36 TARL
NWST 0-19 SEMO
MCNSE 28-26 WEB

  • NConf Record: 2-3

    vs. FCS: 2-3
    Overall: 12-14

Best Performance: McNeese St. 28, (#25) Weber St. 26 - Clifton McDowell puts up 203 passing yards and 109 rushing yards to help the Cowboys beat a ranked team on the road for the first time in 11 years.

Worst Performance: Northwestern St. 0, (#13) Southeast Missouri St. 19 - The Demons were dominated way more than the score suggests—they were outgained 420-120 and never got inside the SEMO 40-yard line.

Most Surprising Result: McNeese St. 28, (#25) Weber St. 26 - Not counting his JuCo year, Clifton McDowell is now 16-2 as a college starting quarterback. :o

Missouri Valley

MUR 35-72 UND
SIU 13-42 SDK
YSU 31-38 MIZST
NDSU 42-10 ILST
HCU 27-24 INST

  • NConf Record: 0-1
    Overall: 23-19

    vs. FCS: 0-1
    Overall: 21-7

Best Performance: (#5) South Dakota 42, (#17) Southern Illinois 13 - Travis Theis and Charles Pierre combine for 271 rushing yards, 211 more than entire Saluki team had (they also had 4 combined TDs).

Worst Performance: Indiana St. 24, Houston Christian 27 - Continuing a theme from earlier weeks… there's a reason teams like Indiana State aren't favored by more than a touchdown very often. :?

Most Surprising Result: (#9) North Dakota 72, Murray St. 35 - The margin wasn't surprising, but this was North Dakota's highest point total in 96 years. :o

UAC

ACU 55-30 UTU
SELU 33-36 TARL
LAM 14-34 UCA
UNA 25-16 UWG

    Overall: 11-10

Best Performance: (#7) Central Arkansas 34, (#19) Lamar 14 - ShunDerrick Powell runs for 187 yards and 2 TDs while Darius Hale adds 96 yards and another TD for a Bear squad that is one botched replay review away from being 5-0.

Worst Performance: West Georgia 16, North Alabama 25 - The Wolves fell to 0-3 in conference after a safety turned a one-score deficit into a two-score margin in the final minute.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

Pioneer

USD 28-30 DRAKE
vul 0-63 BUT
DAY 47-14 MARIST

VALPO 5-17 MHEAD

  • NConf Record: 1-0
    Overall: 20-18

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 4-17

Best Performance: Drake 30, San Diego 28 - Shane Dunning hits a 48-yard field goal at the gun—he went 3/3 for the game—to bail out a Bulldog team that blew a 28-9 lead in the fourth quarter.

Worst Performance: Marist 14, Dayton 47 - The Red Foxes suffer their 8th. straight loss, the longest skid in program history (they lost 7 straight to close 1980).

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

Delaware State found a obvious weakness in the defense of Campbell and I hope that NC CENTRAL was watching they are going to meet up with them this weekend. They beat Campbell in a shootout last year.
