Its a whole different story.

Villanova could have spent $1 million on advertising for one game alone and they still would not have packed that stadium for that game. Its just not going to happen. Especially in sub 20-degree weather.

Its not going to happen.

Agreed. College football in general is not big in the northeast, that is especially true in New England. People up here are Red Sox crazy with college basketball finishing a distant second. FCS football is not even on the radar. Sad but true, look at the last two FCS programs to get dropped and notice what region of the country they were from.
The same can be said for Eastern Washington. Greater Spokane has 5 times as many people as Missoula and EWU has about 1/4 of the attendance as Montana. Of course Spokane also has WHL Hockey, Arena Football, Gonzaga basketball, and PAC-10 and WAC programs 70 miles down the road. Population also brings competition.

Both will travel poorly. I feel badly for Montana fans, because they would fill their side of a more accessible venue. If you had to pick a top ten list of unlikely continental US flight itineraries, Missoula MT to Chattanooga TN in December is probably right up there with Ypsilanti MI to Yuma AZ in August, and the flights are priced accordingly.

Villanova fans have no excuse.
There are no Villanova fans...
they can't be bothered to go to a home game... why travel.?

Villanova considers itself to be a basketball school, unlike Delaware and perhaps several other FCS schools, where football is king.

Villanova has a great team this year, but I think it's better for all of FCS when "football is king" schools go deep into the playoffs.

If yesterday was an indication of what the Griz have on defense then Montana will win...App's offense is better than those of any CAA team and they proved it by hanging 35 on Richmond and putting 444 yards on a team that was giving up around 250 a game.

You hit that right on the head. And not all UM fans are from Missoula. We drive over 300 miles each way to home games. It took me all day to complete booking for Chatty. Clunky and expensive is the best way I can describe it. Most fans can't afford the combination of cost and time; it could hardly be more inconvenient. Chatty did not like us winning for sure; they're the loser. It's our seventh visit to the NC game in 15 years and neither Huntington nor Chatty are easy to get to.

I just found out I'm authorized to do this for the second year in a row without risking divorce. The various logistical hurdles involved in getting there from here pale into insignificance compared to the inconvenience of a divorce. Montana fans should look at figuring out how to get to Chattanooga the same way a left-hander has to look at living in a world designed and dominated by right-handers.

Don't think Chatty minded Montana winning, just not at the expense of AppSt....NCAA kind of fokked this up by putting the two teams (app & UM) with the best traveling fanbase in the same bracket.....gave themselves a great semi match up, but screwed themselves out of a possible sell out in Chatty....

nova wins!

No surprise.

Griz couldn't stop the run all game and it was bound to wear them down. nova should have won by more but that snap cost them points. Funny, same center tossed two high ones earlier that almost went over the QB's head.

Congrats nova! CAA does it again! :thumb:

Shoulda coulda woulda....Griz coming away with zero points on first drive, Nova throwing a pick in the end zone....there's ALWAYS points left on the field.

The better team won. :ohno:
