UNI is a state school and the biggest class I've been in is 70ur76spider wrote:I would care less how he looks! Maybe not as many as the huge state schools where freshmen enter an auditorium to take a required course along with 300 to 500 other freshmen!I just couldn't resist getting a little "smack" in there!!

My largest class at JMU had maybe 100.
I was a TA for the largest class in the university -- "The History of Rock." It had about 500 people in it and a lengthy waiting list. Obviously, it was not a required class, but I think it did meet some kind of creative requirement in the curriculum.

I took that class as an elective... don't know if it fills any requirement besides getting your credit hours up to at least 12 hrs the second semester of senior year.
I think my average class size was around 15 people...
My average major class is about 30. It's a small major, about 200 people, but there are only 6 different profs in the department that teach all of the classes. My average class during college has been around 50JMU DJ wrote:mcveyrl wrote:

When did you take it? Was Rick D. your professor? He's since gone to Ball State, but I taught the very first HofR class in '01.
Therre are several of those KNOWN required classes at Towson. Most notabley Art Appreciation, or "Art in the Dark" basically a slide show in a big lecture hall.JMU DJ wrote:mcveyrl wrote:

Spring 2006, Prof D was still teaching it. Probably the easiest class I ever took... well, besides my "literature" requirement. I heard of a literature class that all the athletes took so I waited until my Junior year when I could register early enough and took that class... it was glorious: Me, the girls soccer team, a couple of football players, etc. The professor sat there and read us the Canterbury tales and told us WWII stories (he was an old British fighter pilot/bomber) ... that was it.
That's the fallout of London leaving, not of Corp coming in.kdinva wrote:The fallout of Mr. Corp's arrival has started:

Jake McGee, the top HS QB in metro-Richmond, is following Coach London to UVa.
I took the same course at UM, huge waiting list on that one toomcveyrl wrote:ur76spider wrote:I would care less how he looks! UR already lost this DT who initially committed to UR but then after London departed committed to JMU:ur2K wrote:kdinva wrote:The fallout of Mr. Corp's arrival has started:

This has nothing to do with Corp. McGee would be a RS sophomore the first year Corp is gone. This move is more because London needs recruits at UVA. Word on the street is that McGee doesn't project as a QB at the D-I level (including if he would've enrolled at UR).
He's also on the verge of poaching another - a DT - Rashad Winston. But he hasn't made a decision on which school he wants to attend yet.
