This class single handedly tops any of Heacock's classes in the past 9 years. It is loaded with talent from the two best Catholic Schools in Northeast Ohio, and arguably Ohio, in Youngstown Ursuline and Cardinal Mooney.
Enjoy!

Great class. Sadly YSU's cupboard is so bare that these kids won't make an impact for a few years. Lets hope for some x-fers and no defections of what was left from JH. 2010 maybe a frustrating seasonguinzone wrote:This class single handedly tops any of Heacock's classes in the past 9 years. Do you see a substaintal differnce in the Pengiun style of play with the new coach - other than hoping to win more?

Looks like certain people on this board finally have a reason to trade in their US Passports

Current OVC football members - 0-21 in FCS playoffs since 1997

By the looks of things Y-town will probably go back to what made YSU successful in the 90's. A power set offense and a stingy bend don't break defense. The New Mexico freshmen QB Wolf recruited should be able to run the spread but probably when needed. We'll see though. I just want to see the playoff's more than once in 9 years and beat UNI 2 out of 3 yearsTrapped in CA wrote:Do you see a substaintal differnce in the Pengiun style of play with the new coach - other than hoping to win more?

Re: Youngstown State 2010 Recruiting Class
I urge everyone to watch the two video's from Wolford's press conference yesterday:
http://www.youtube.com/ysusports
Wolford is a very smart and intelligent guy, but it is obvious he is extremely tough and serious as well. The guy is making recruiting inroads into Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, and Cincinnati, which is huge for our program. Ohio, per capita, has more Division 1 football players than any other state. We took out four kids with MAC offers as well and nearly a fifth, but he finally decided this morning to commit to Toledo.
Akron and Kent better watch out, because YSU is going to be the recruiting king in NEOhio.
Our offense is going to be a spread offense, but we will go under center with the ace and the I-formation. The QB battle between Angle and Locksley will be fun to watch. Locksley has all the tools to be a star at this level, but there are some HS coaches in Ohio that believed Angle was the best QB in the state!
