Hornets QB out for game versus NAU
Last year when NAU played at Sacramento State, the Lumberjacks finished the game with their third string quarterback under center.
Fast forward a year and with Sacramento State set to play NAU on Saturday at the Skydome, the Hornets will start out the game with their third string quarterback. Sophomore starter Jason Smith will miss the game after undergoing minor surgery earlier this week. Sacramento State coach Marshall Sperbeck didn't elaborate on what the surgery was related to. With Smith now out and number two quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson already out four to six weeks with two sprained knee ligaments, the Hornets will turn to their No.3 signal caller, Duncan White this Saturday.
"It's never good when guys get hurt, but it's part of the game," Sperbeck said Wednesday during the Big Sky Conference coaches teleconference. "You always have to have guys ready to go in case something like this happens and we think we're ready for it."

Jason Smith vs. Alex Henderson & Shaun Fitzpatrick. Which team's injuries will make the biggest difference?

Old news. We have a perfectly good QB in Duncan White who will take the game to NAU. Sac STILL wins.
