"McNeese State's Wes Mangan, Toddrick Pendland and Casey Richter will all be attending NFL football camps this weekend and are expected to sign free agent contracts.
Mangan will be going either to the Minnesota Viking camp or the Oakland Raider camp while Pendland will be at Cleveland's camp and Richter at St. Louis. All three will leave on Thursday.
None of the three have signed a contract as yet but all are expected to be offered and sign by the time the weekend's over.
All three were contacted by the teams about free agent deals following the recent NFL draft.
The three were standouts during the past four seasons for the Cowboys, helping McNeese win three Southland Conference titles, make three NCAA post season appearances and win 33 games.
Mangan, a native of Brenham, TX, completed his Cowboy career as the fourth leading all-time tight end receiver in school history with 67 receptions. He also set the school tight end touchdown record on receptions with 12.
Pendland, from Newton, TX, led the nation in scoring last season with a 10.73 point per game average. He also led the Southland Conference in rushing and all-purpose running and set three school records while tying two others. The tailback completed his career with 4,306 all-purpose yards, 3,137 yards rushing, 37 touchdowns rushing and 13, 100 yard games rushing.
Richter, an offensive tackle out of Prairieville, started 24 straight games for the Cowboys and was the leader in the offensive line.
All three were first team all-Southland Conference picks and Pendland also earned all-America honors.
A year ago Cowboys Quinten Lawrence, Jeremy Haynes and Kyle Link signed with NFL teams."

got that from mcneesesports.com ... hope it works out for those 3 and the rest of our beloved FCS players.

The Bucs are scouting the NEC RB's I guess. Should be interesting. Hopefully they both make the roster. :thumb:

Pendland, from Newton, TX, led the nation in scoring last season with a 10.73 point per game average. He also led the Southland Conference in rushing and all-purpose running and set three school records while tying two others. The tailback completed his career with 4,306 all-purpose yards, 3,137 yards rushing, 37 touchdowns rushing and 13, 100 yard games rushing.
According to Southland.org, he didn't lead the conference in rushing and all-purpose yards:

RUSHING Cl G Att. Yards Avg. TD Long Avg/G
1. Grimes, Brent-UCA SR 12 200 1222 6.1 18 43 101.8
2. Pendland, Todd-MCN SR 11 178 1059 5.9 17 70 96.3

ALL PURPOSE Cl G Rush Rcv PR KR Yards Yards/G
1. Grimes, Brent-UCA SR 12 1222 311 0 0 1533 127.8
2. Pervis, Vincent-SFA SR 13 919 177 0 455 1551 119.3
3. Pendland, Todd-MCN SR 11 1059 244 0 8 1311 119.2

and as for the TDs....

SCORING (TDs) Cl G TD Rush Pass Ret. PAT Pts Pts/G
1. Pendland, Todd-MCN SR 11 19 17 2 0 2 118 10.7
2. Grimes, Brent-UCA SR 12 19 18 1 0 0 114 9.5

Although the argument could be made UCA had one more game than McNeese and he scored that extra TD to tie with Pendland in that game. So Ill let that one go..

Both players were awesome last year, but whoever put that article out about Pendland needs to get his facts straight. :thumb:

Darrell Pasco (GSU - WR) signed this morning with the Bucs after mini-camp tryout.
May 03, 2010 - Darrell Pasco was born in Tampa, grew up in Clearwater and played his high school ball at Countryside before eventually landing at Georgia Southern. Unsurprisingly, then, Pasco lists the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his favorite team in his GSU bio.

No luck for any of the other FCS players at the Bucs camp.
