South Carolina St @ #2 Appalachian

I'm talking about the entire half of the bracket, Einstein, not just the first game.

It is absolutely friggin' hilarious to sit back and watch the ASU homers try to legitimize South Carolina State. Remember 11-0 Hampton (they of the #1 seed back a few years ago)? How'd that turn out for them? Remember 10-1 Delaware State last year? Yeah.....how'd that game against Delaware go again? If you guys don't put 50 on them, you'd better start to worry. And if they score more than 10 against you, batten down the hatches.

Hey someone's got to play the patsies (although I remember well our game with A&M a few years back....ouch)......It's unfortunate for JMU that Wofford is one of the few east coast teams not invited to join the CAA as yet or they could have had SC State....

I will openly acknowledge that Texas State is one of the two patsies in our half of the bracket. I'm not bitching about OUR game, I'm bitching about the layout overall. And that JMU got the shaft.

But the comical thing, John, is that 90% of SoCon fans were claiming that the ASU/Wofford game was an abberation and that it just "got away' from Wofford, that they weren't 70 points bad and that they still belonged in the top 10. So, which is it?

It's not just Wofford, though. JMU will likely have to play Nova again in the quarters. Villanova should have received a seed & was just a hail mary away from beating the Dukes in the regular season.

Barring injuries, I highly doubt that JMU won't be able to get up for a Nat'l Championship game, IF THEY GET THERE.
They have pointed to that result since fumbling away their chance to advance at Appy St. last year.
They played D1 Duke in week #1(loss), then won their way through: UMASS #3 FCS in week 3, App. St. #1 FCS in week 4, Richmond #5 FCS in week 7, Villanova #7 FCS in week 8, William & Mary FCS #12 in week 10. I have to admit that 2 of the wins were fantastic finishes that JMU could have lost. Bottomline, this team is battle tested, hungry, and ready to atone for last year's trip to Boone, NC. Does that get them any wins on the field, probably not, but it does give some insight to how they could still have something in the tank IF they do get to Chatty.

This has already been accomplished. When we came to JMU at the beginning of this season and you beat us, you felt accomplished. BECAUSE of this game, we didn't lose another game. I think it was Pierre Banks that said something along the lines of, 'during halftime, we were winning by a few tds, but it didn't need to be said that we should remember the jmu game.' We're not going to be overconfident again like we were during halftime of that game. IF we get to play jmu again, I'll bet the score would closely resemble the App-Wofford score (in App's favor, again).

You've already gotten your "revenge," but we're not going to get to play you, which is unfortunate, because Wofford is going to beat you.

I believe App will win, but this will help: 43 degrees, cloudy, with a chance of snow. App is accustomed to playing in this environment, and SC State is not. App has played in much worse conditions this year, we're prepared for that. Not to mention Kidd Brewer stadium with ridiculous homefield advantage (41-1 last 6 years)
