I think people are giving CP too much credit for past accomplishments if they are in the top 25. They went 4-7 last year. Is there something about them that makes people think they will have a significant turn around this year?

Towson will get sacraficed to Indiana week one.
We beat CCU last year and pathetic is not strong enough a word to describe Towson last year. So that SHOULD be a win. How convincing that win is will clue us in to where we are in the rebuilding process. Playing Villanova in week 3 will be our CAA wake up call.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

It may come a lot sooner than that.. 9/11 at home vs South Dakota St

Barring some miracle in Missouri the second week of the season, I don't think McNeese fans will have much of a gauge of how good or bad we are until our third game with Cal-Poly at home.

First game is a home game against Lamar, who hasn't played a game in a zillion years. If the game is close, are we bad or are they good with all their transfers? If we blow them out, are we good or are they really really bad?

Against BCS Missouri, I'd be a little optimistic if we keep the game close. If we get beat bad, it wouldn't mean much.

I think Cal Poly is the game that will tell us a little more of where we stand.

Season opener for the Minutemen...it's also the conference opener...vs. William & Mary...

If....IF...we could come out on top...I think that will be an excellent tone setter for our season...

I can agree with your thinking, but that's a should-win game for UD at home. JMU isn't necessarily a should-win.

idk i guess the first game of the seaon even though its against ga tech...but we lost 22 seniors to graduation last year... (will ford, tre young, phillip adams, rafeal bush) just to name a few... but i can say that we will have one of the best linebacking cores in the fcs.. but after the ga tech game i expect nothing but w's from there on out

I'll be interested to see Five Dimes' line for that game. SDSU is supposed to be the better team. Home field for UD might make it close to a pick 'em.

URI starts out @ Buffalo which will be a loss.

I expect I'll get a good reading for this year's team in our second game which is against Fordham. As much as we sucked last season at least we beat those guys. If we lose to them then we'll be as bad (can't get much worst) than last season and I'll be starting some "FIRE TRAINER" threads.

I think for the Flames it'll come down to the JMU game. now if LU gets destroyed by Ball State then I'd that'd open my eyes. The way I look at it is the JMU game actually counts for something in the FCS. IF the flames beat the dukes, LU is looking pretty good. If they lose, then Liberty looks like it did last year. A good team, but not one that'd make a deep run in the playoffs :twocents:
