Obviously essentials are grill, drinks, and friends. Everything else on top of that just adds to the experience.

Re: Tailgating!!!
Any visiting fans that have been to McNeese and visited our reserved tailgating areas know we take our enjoyment of tailgating very seriously.
Here is a typical hometown tailgate schedule for me. Sometime after noon on Friday, I travel over to my shop/storage area and pick up the four tailgating popup canopies and the hardware to put them up, tie them together and stake them down, a large table, and an assortment of bag chairs. Then, I head to Lake Charles and meet Andy, one of my tailgate buddies at our tailgate spots. A group of us have two back to back spots, 14 & 16, together in the Westside Reserved Tailgating Area. Andy brings his travel trailer and sets it up on the eastside of our spots. After it is setup, we then put up the four popups next to the awning of his travel trailer, bungy them together, stake them down. We then put up the flags, banners, McNeese decorations, etc. Once, we set up, we visit the other people who are bringing in the motorhomes, travel trailers, RV's, etc and are setting up. We sit around awhile and may go get something to eat. After that I head home while Andy and his wife spend Friday night in the tailgate areas (as a lot of other people do). Friday night, I buy drinks and ice them down in my ice chest.
Friday about noon (remember most all of McNeese games are 7PM night games), I pack up my camera bag, laptop bag, and my ice chest and head for Lake Charles. When I get there, Andy has usually started grilling or cooking food. We eat lunch. The satellite dish is setup and and we watch other games on a flat screen on one of the tables next to the travel trailer. Also, CBuck brings his Verizon Access point (plus I have a Verizon aircard) so that we have wireless internet access. We fire up the laptop at various times to check scores, messageboards, and watch other games streaming on the internet.
About 3PM, especially during the hot Sept. and Oct. games, we walk across the street from the tailgate area to the Frosty Factory, which is a bar that servers frozen adult beverages. One of those tastes great in the hot weather.
About 4PM, I break out the camera, to take pictures of the Cowboy Walk. The players are bussed over to the stadium after their pregame meal. They get off the bus and walk through the tailgate areas on the way to the dressing room by the stadium. I then go through the Westside Area, take pictures of anything interesting for the Geauxcowboys.com website, and, of course, sample a lot of food and drink. I then walk around the stadium to the other big reserved tailgating area on the eastside to visit with the people I know there and take more pictures and sample more food and drink.
I usually get back our spot at 5PM to rest my feet and visit with any of the visiting fans, who we always invite to our area, who have showed up. Also, the Cheerleaders come by and visit our area somewhere around 5:30 and sample some food and drink water. At 6 PM the band marches through the Westside Tailgate Area and plays the two McNeese fight songs, Jolie Blonde and On McNeese. After taking pictures of the Band, I head for the Stadium and sidelines to take pictures of the teams warming up and the pre-game ceremonies. The Band marches to the other tailgate areas and repeats their playing of the fight songs.
Of course, the main event, the game is next. After taking pictures of the game and postgame stuff, I head back to the tailgate area. I get off my feet again and we usually eat again, visit, and rehash the game. Sometimes, I download my pictures to my laptop and view them. After resting up, we take down the popups and load them, the table, ice chest, etc. into my truck. I head home and Andy stays, along with the other travel trailer and motor home people, in the tailgate area overnight. They are supposed to leave by noon on Sunday.
That is usually my tailgating weekend. Now for some pictures.

The "non-academic" is where I started to
No "long hair". No "counter-culture", and the counter culture is to be determined by a group of "experts"

I wouldn't last a week there. No alcohol, no tobacco, no shorts, no sweatpants, count me out.
Also tailgating needs beer, food, maybe some cornhole, maybe toss a football around. A tent or other sunblocking device is essential for those people who have skin that doesn't tan but only burns, such as myself.

Also, what exactly is defined as life-threatening language? Those spells in Harry Potter that you aren't supposed to say?

though I suppose life-threatening language would be, you know, threats against someone's life. "I'm gonna kill you", etc.

Looks like this thread has been hopelessly hijacked.
So I'll put in my two cents. Is anybody forcing the kids to go to Liberty? The ones that choose to go probably know what they are getting into when they go.

I didn't exactly engage in endless partying at my college(CCU) as i don't drink or smoke or do drugs( ) and i prefer to not hang with people who do to an excess . So yes liberty might be different but that's not to say it would be worse. I think it would be worth trying at least once.

McNeese 72, thanks great post. I’m just getting things started on my end for tailgating. I’ve got the chairs and table. I’m going to be buying a grill in the next week or two. I’m also looking into buying a pop-up canopy. Where did you get yours from? Appx. how much did they cost?

true. although some kids may be "forced" to go, by their parents.McNeese72 wrote:So I'll put in my two cents. Is anybody forcing the kids to go to Liberty? The ones that choose to go probably know what they are getting into when they go.
and in any case, they probably know what they are getting into. and they should probably know that people in the general public that aren't fundamentalist baptists (or whatever) are likely to "not understand" and poke fun at such things.
