Clock management, clock management, clock management…
That's how Nova lost this game (barring a miracle runback).

Temple (and the MAC) still suck.

Shitty offensive series for nova after they recovered that fumble. Didn't gain any yards, and didn't chew up any of the clock.

Re: Villanova @ Temple Game Thread
exactly. all they had to do was run the ball up the middle and gain at least a yard or 2, kill the clock and hit the field goal on a 4th down.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Clock management, clock management, clock management…

Despite what the announcers said, that TD did count, right? The penalty was declined, so I'm pretty sure the play stands.
Re: Villanova @ Temple Game Thread
Every media outlet I have seen is reporting that it did not count. For purposes of my pick in the GoHens spread pool, I hope it does eventually!Mvemjsunpx wrote:Despite what the announcers said, that TD did count, right? The penalty was declined, so I'm pretty sure the play stands.

So I guess that you also think FCS football also sucks since Temple just beat the FCS champ?Aho Old Guy wrote:Temple (and the MAC) still suck.

LAST YEAR'S champ. Nova could end up going 6-5 if Talley and the OC make some more stupid calls.BlueHen86 wrote:So I guess that you also think FCS football also sucks since Temple just beat the FCS champ?Aho Old Guy wrote:Temple (and the MAC) still suck.

Perhaps it's a relative statement. Amongst FBS, the MAC is not that great. Perhaps he just hates Temple. Hell, I say Duke sucks, but when it comes to basketball...apparently not so much.BlueHen86 wrote:So I guess that you also think FCS football also sucks since Temple just beat the FCS champ?Aho Old Guy wrote:Temple (and the MAC) still suck.

Re: Villanova @ Temple Game Thread
Nova looked great for three quarters.. but in the final period they couldn't move the ball at all.. four consecutive 'three and outs'. Still had they used just a little more clock after that fumble recovery.. despite their forth quarter ineptness.. Nova would have had the win.

Re: Villanova @ Temple Game Thread
I doubt it. Temple was a bowl team last year (and figures to be one again).bluehenbillk wrote:Down goes Frazier, down goes Frazier, there will be a new #1 on Monday.
Re: Villanova @ Temple Game Thread
I'm not taking anything away from Nova (I thought they looked good in the game), but let's not get carried away with what it takes to be a "bowl team" any more. A 9-3 Temple team was invited to the prestigious EagleBank Bowl last season in balmy, bucolic Washington DC and was smoked by a 6-6 rebuilding UCLA team.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I doubt it. Re: Villanova @ Temple Game Thread
Agreed. If he posted that statement on a Big 10 or SEC message board that would be one thing. But seeing as Temple just beat the best, or one of the best, that FCS has to offer saying that Temple sucks leads me to infer that he thinks that the FCS sucks as well.ASUMountaineer wrote:Perhaps it's a relative statement.
