Just the general difference between the CAA and the majority of the rest of the nation these days. Great game by UD, just ran all over SDSU while pretty much stopping anything they wanted to do. Andrew Pierce for UD is going to be a star - and he's only a true freshman - sounds like a new AP in the building.

Notwithstanding the respect I have for their program, and I can't think of another that does more with less, I felt the Jacks were overrated last year after SIU trounced them at their place in similar fashion. They've got some hosses up front, but like their brethren to the north, they don't have many difference makers - not a slam, just the way it is. Win or lose you got to admire the way they came in to the FCS willing to play anybody anywhere. Let's see if UD returns the game or decides to Montana out of it.

UD's o line questions appear to be answered, their surge on the 1st or 2nd TD, I forget which, decided the game right there. It's not easy to push the Jacks d line around like that.

The game pretty much was called by several people earlier. Everything was stacked against SDSU, from travel to schedule to injury.

A shame that these teams had to play an elimination game so early in the season.

Totally agree houndawg. SDSU had a lot of bounces go their way last year. They were certainly a very solid team, just not a top tier FCS team. I don't think they quite have the athletes yet to compete with the top teams on a consistent basis. I predicted they would take a significant step back this year, especially with that schedule.

It was truly incredible what they were able to do last year with that team.

Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought this was orginally a two-for-one series, with the Hens hosting twice, and that the last two games had been called off.

Yes, the original series had been recast as a one off in Newark only more than a year ago. This is the only game in the series by mutual agreement.

Good wishes along the way to SDSU. This obviously wasn't what you'd hoped for. I kept waiting for the kick in the teeth, but it didn't come. Hopefully you all can deliver that to your next opponent.

Game was dominated by both UD lines. Jackrabbits will win some games this year and please kick some Redbird azz. But for me the UD line play on both sides of the ball was the story. 10-12 mins left UD defense had given up 25 rushing and 140 total before the big O'Brien-Kool (I think) play. And the most impressive punt I may see all season by SDSU - was it 75 yds? No quit in SDSU either. This could be a special UD team. Hope Muir saw the crowd (ie: empty seats). Disappointing.

Well this one stings that's for sure. Hope to god tob improves or this will b a long season. And the domination of the los by Delaware was just depressing.

Past the 1st 2 series O'Brien did not look that bad really. He has tools, but losing your running game left the coaching staff guessing IMHO. Think you'll hear similar from other UDers in attendance.

Watched the SDSU punter put one into the North end zone stands during practice...looked at the guy next to me and said, "Holy crap!"

Turns out he boomed several long ones, with great hang time, during the game. A good weapon in future SDSU games.

Met several Jackrabbit fans this afternoon...all of them were very nice people. :thumb:

Ypu...he was definitely not used ot game speed his first two series. What bothered me in this game was that we stuffed the run well but really didn't get a lot of pressure on the QB. If we hadn't put them in an early hole, it would have been a different game.

I also wasn't impressed with Devlin. He missed some easy passes.

The good news is that our OL was pretty good with the run and the pass protection. Although, from my point of view, we always seemed to run behind Allard's side and ignored Uhl's. We need better balance in the run game.

Just posted on Delaware online...

Suddenly, a possible injury to a University of Delaware football player has become an apparent issue of national security.

Guess that’s what happens — though it shouldn’t — when the injured player is Delaware quarterback Pat Devlin, who is merely the Blue Hens’ most important.

If you attended Delaware’s 26-3 rout of South Carolina State today, or listened on the radio, you may have noticed or heard that Devlin appeared at some point in the first half with what looked like tape and wristbands on his left (non-throwing) arm. We noticed it from way up in the pressbox. He never came out of the game. He did throw less in the second half, but part of that was, it seemed, because the Hens were so far ahead and the running game was so effective. He didn’t seem effected.

That's just embarrasing!
And we wonder whyt each game has less and less attendance. We can't even get out opponent's name right!

 The pathetic writers at the News Urinal were too busy busting on the coach to realize that they are FAR worse at their own jobs!
