Richmond: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/ric ... elease.pdf
Notes:
• Two of the most high-profile QB transfers in the FCS battle Saturday -- Richmond’s Aaron Corp
switched from Southern Cal in the off-season, and Delaware’s Pat Devlin left Penn State two years ago.
• Saturday’s game marks the first time in school history Richmond will have played consecutive home
games in the regular season involving Top-10 teams.
• The two conference powers have combined for two memorable games over the last four seasons -- but both came at Delaware Stadium. The Spiders outlasted the Hens, 62-56, in an epic five-OT game in 2007 and last season, Richmond won 16-15 in Newark thanks to a blocked field goal with 38 seconds left.
• Delaware is 21-16 (.567) against Top 25 ranked opponents since K.C. Keeler took over the reigns in 2002.

You forgot to note that this is NOT the CS.com GOTW.
Re: #7 Delaware @ #5 Richmond Game Thread
I'll be at a wedding in Wilmington, NC while this one's going on, but I'll be slyly following it on my Droid 2.
Should be a good one!

No....according to some 'mos from Montana, this should NOT be a good one. Liberty@JMU is where it's at.93henfan wrote:I'll be at a wedding in Wilmington, NC while this one's going on, but I'll be slyly following it on my Droid 2.

Still trying to figure out a way to get down there, but too many other Saturday commits going on. Plus I'll be in the dog house for golfing all day yesterday and again tomorrow.
Re: #7 Delaware @ #5 Richmond Game Thread
If you find a way bring wads of cash for a ticket. 8.7k stadium, 2.2k student allotment, 1.0k UD allotment plus what ever their season ticket base is and it's parents weekend. Ticket demand is nuts. Our family is covered (2-UD season tickets vs 2-UR students & their tuition payers) but many a parent seeking tickets this week.

Actually will be on a news blackout on this one. Oldest son has a baseball game at 3:30 and I coach, so I already have the TiVo lined up to tape this one. On the bright side, I can skip through all the stoppages and halftime. But I'll be decidedly away from any computers and will not be answering any phone calls until later in the night Saturday. Samething happens next week with JMU - darn kids and their own actitivities.

This will be an interesting game to see which of these two teams is an actual contender for the CAA crown. Has UR done enough to reload, or has UD rebuilt themselves back into the perennial contender that we are used to. How will UD react to playing on the road after three laughers at the Tub. Wish I was down in Richmond for this one instead being up in Boston, though I am looking forward to having my Spiders come up in two weeks for the UNH game and the UMass game the next week.

Why did they build a track around the new field?

All we need now is someone to start 42 more and we'll reach the record set by JMU fans after the Va Tech game.BDKJMU wrote:I thought we already had a UD @ UR pregame thread?

I do a Delaware game thread each week after each school has released game notes. That way people unfamiliar with each team's website can come to my thread for a link to whatever they need.BDKJMU wrote:I thought we already had a UD @ UR pregame thread?

This is good news for you. I was at a wedding in 2008 when JMU played at UR.
I think most know how that ended...

Is this an every week thing? Who is Satchmo? Are there a ton of "central Virginia" football fans that tune into him? This is fascinating.

No sir. No hijack. It involved an opposing fan attending a wedding during a game at UR. 100% relevant, obviously. Ask Satchmo.

All you need to know about Satchmo is he's every bit the National Treasure as the Grand Canyon or the Statue of Liberty.mcveyrl wrote:89Hen wrote:

The guy is really an Institution of FCS Football.

Man I hope that fisheye lens is deceiving, because the seats look sooo far from the field! For as old and untouched Delaware Stadium is, I love the no track fact.
