Moses is good.
He was so composed that final drive.

Re: SLC scores 10/09
Is he? Come on, this was a bad game on both sides. He got rattled, he got plastered, he threw INTs and just like any other decent QB, he led a soft D drive down on a 2 minute drill. I didn't see anything special tonight that sets him apart from the rest of the league, or the better QBs in the FCS.
Right now I'd say, whoever wins the SLC is going to get humiliated by any team with a good D.
(Don't argue with me. Our Freshman QB isn't all that. He got rattled and rolled today and our D forgot to show up...at all. Come to think of it, the whole team forgot.)

I'm not going to argue with you...well, maybe just a little. Granted, Moses didn't have a great game by any stretch. However, he pulled it together when it counts. The best teams have down weeks here and there, the important thing is you get the W. They won't all look pretty. Also, other than A&M and UNI we have played a bunch of cupcakes and then had a bye week. Hopefully, this is why SFA was a little rusty. Also, there is no denying how tough it is to play in Lake C!CatMom wrote:Is he? Come on, this was a bad game on both sides. I think its still to early to say anything about the southland's playoff chances.

Re: SLC scores 10/09
I think he's the best QB in the SLC.....so far. Seems he always has better games when I'm not watching though
Seriously, the best D so far is SLU but a good D backfield will hold their O in check. Just like a good backfield holds SFA in check... and ours.
SLC Defenses don't measure up to other FCS conferences, it's been proven. With the exception of a couple good runs by a few SLC teams, our D's have been the downfall of playoff appearances. So, from what I have seen so far, we've got a problem.
We played horribly today and so did both of the teams in this game. Bye week or not, you can't take a week off and come out this flat when a conference title is on the line every game.

True! As the saying goes, "defense wins championships". Like you, I don't think there is a dominant defense in the SLC. Its funny, seems that is the case with pretty much every college team in Texas, even the folks in Austin are having their defensive troubles lately. Something wrong at the high school level?

Re: SLC scores 10/09
Hey SFA Fan, read my post 2 up from yours.
The only thing about that last drive is that he was playing against a team whose D was playing soft and couldn't stop the pass all afternoon. It was a typical good 2 minute drill (with 3 minutes left).....I didn't find it special. If you did, fine.
SUU scored relatively quickly against us, at the end of the game when our D went soft. Made that score seem a lot closer than it was.
I don't try to be a Moses basher, I know how good he is and has been but every time I watch him, in person or on TV, I come away underwhelmed and wonder how he has gotten where he is. (People probably said that about George too)

Re: SLC scores 10/09
Yeah it was more than ugly and way worse than pathetic. I wrote, on another thread, that the team seemed to not show up at all. I also think they should have put our backup QB in. The true freshman showed he was a true freshman and the O could not keep our D off the field. Just an exampleSFA Fan wrote:I have to admit though, Loosing to SE Louisiana by 20,SMH, I was really shocked by that. Texas State yall better get it together now.
4 sacks
3 INTs
6 QBH
