Are the blue field of Boise and the red of EWU the start of a national trend?

I still think it is horrible. I would be opposed to the Griz going with a maroon field if they wanted to try it, so I am really not trying to single the color or EWU out. I think the smurf turf is every bit as putrid and the NCAA should put in a rule before it gets out of hand.

Nah. I don't think most AD's really have the balls to try something like that. I do think, however, that there's a lot of people out there that claim that they hate the colored turfs, but secretly wish their school had done it.

I wasn't able to go to the game to see it live. I've been to several games in Boise and I don't like the blue. The red stands in Utah's stadium hurt my eyes enough that I can only imagine how painful it is to have the whole field that way. It really is distracting to me and it is just my opinion I guess. I don't think EWU is doing anything wrong or anything like that, I just don't like it as it detracts from the game for me.

I don't mind Boise's blue field, but I tried to watch a game at EWU, and I couldn't see the ball. A brown ball does not show up very well on a red field, especially if your picture isn't very clear (like on Big Sky TV).

I'm 23 and think both Boise State and Eastern have horrific looking fields.


I also think Penn State and Alabama have the best uniforms in football. I guess I'm an old traditionalist.

We've done it for years. Aside from the Glanville years, our green unis matched our green field.

I'll throw in a mister green for ya, too...
