You didn't miss much. Our offense was already headed back to Missoula on the bus at the start of the half.SDHornet wrote:I didn't see much of the second half.

From what I saw they would have just thrown an INT anyways.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Our offense didn't get to see much of it either.SDHornet wrote:Wow. I saw some of the game it looked about even. UM should have controlled the game but they kept turning the ball over. Higgins was able to get on track and they were able to move the ball and get some momentum. I didn't see much of the second half.
Re: UM @ WSU
I was at the game, great win for Weber! But, I'll have to say that the Griz beat themselves.

Griz get run over in the first half, lead 21-13.
Griz do a good job on the run in the second half, get outscored 17-0.

Re: UM @ WSU
I just got back from this game and a few things i noticed:
-First #31 for Weber State (takipuna i believe) is a beast and Weber needs to give him the ball more.
-2nd...really think the Griz need to change their offensive scheme next season. This pass heavy air raid offense has got to go. After a few nice long passes and a timely fumble helped them get to 21-13 they got shut down.
-Roper...inaccurate on the majority of his throws and 2 of those picks were his fault (the third he got walloped right when he released the ball so could somewhat be blamed on the offensive line.
-Weber played a hell of a ball game.
Really enjoyed attending this game and sitting by some very friendly Montana fans and told a few jeering Weber fans to go drink their wine coolers
. Hope the Griz can rebound and congrats to the Cats for a great win.

Re: UM @ WSU
Roper did get a big hit on that play but the ball was away when he took the hit and the hit didn't look like it affected the flight of the ball on that one on the replay. We are just way too limited in what we can do right now with this offense.SUUTbird wrote:I just got back from this game and a few things i noticed:

Which is really at odds with the offense. Supposed to have a high flying spread offense, but it is limited. I'm confused by what is going on right now.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote: We are just way too limited in what we can do right now with this offense.

Re: UM @ WSU
The Griz don't really run a pass heavy offense. I would've liked to see a few more runs today, but the Griz are only throwing on 53% of their offensive plays this season (leaning pass, but far from pass heavy).SUUTbird wrote:-2nd...really think the Griz need to change their offensive scheme next season. My criticism is that the Griz continue to run a no-huddle even though the offense can't get in sync. How can you get the D out of sync if you can't get in sync yourselves?
I agree that 2 of Roper's picks were his own fault, but not the same 2. The Carver drop wasn't his fault, but the other two were. He saw pressure, panicked, and just threw it.-Roper...inaccurate on the majority of his throws and 2 of those picks were his fault (the third he got walloped right when he released the ball so could somewhat be blamed on the offensive line.

Interesting finds from the box score
- Griz averaged 0.8 more ypc than Weber, but were still outrushed by 148 yards.
- Weber had 68(!) rushing attempts. That's 13 more than option-based Cal Poly had.
- Chase Reynolds only ran for 71, but he did have 125 total yards.
- Vai Tafuna had 4 TD runs.
- Four Griz had double-digit tackles (Wilson-17, McSurdy-16, Shaw-14, Tripp-11).
- Weber's Jordan Brown had 13 tackles, 1 INT, 1 FF, and 1 FR.

Yeah...hard to blame the Carver tip/drop on him...but the other two were all Roper.

The Wildcats are not too bad when they hold on to the ball...

Yep. Bad performance by Montana and an improved performance by the Wildcats. Weber forced 4 turnovers here after forcing just 6 in the first 7 games combined.native wrote:Weber only lost the ball once...Mvemjsunpx wrote:Interesting finds from the box score

Can you imagine what the Big Sky conference race will look like next year..Crazy..
I think that Weber (when they don't turn the ball over) look a lot like the Eastern Washington team. Both very talented and complete teams.

Re: UM @ WSU
Just got back from taking the rugrats trick or treating after the game. It was nice to Catch up with WeberWildcat and Wildcat Ryan at the game!
Griz nation travelled well to the game but it wasn't enough. I would have liked to of seen us pull a win out, but I can't say this result is not unexpected. We turn the ball over alot and rely on the big play a lot and that is exactly what we did today in the game. Weber came in with a great game plan and executed it well, they ran it down our throats and we didn't stop it. It took the pressure off of Higgins, he didn't have to win it for them and they were effective on the offensive side of things. Our defense didn't play bad, but they didn't play great either. The problems we had today are the same problems we have had all year and it doesn't look like we are gonna fix them anytime soon.
On a humorous note, I think Roper has a job with the CIA when he graduates: They are pretty sure he can overthrow anyone and will be effective there

Don't get cocky. Weber still has to beat MSU & NAU on the road to (most likely) make the playoffs. It's certainly possible, but I'd say less than 50%.wildkyle wrote:We are back. Go Weber.
