SBU @ Presby

After giving the Flames a run for their money, the Blue Hose look to hang with a Seawolf squad that is peaking at the right time and marching toward a winner take all showdown with the Liberty Flames.

Stony Brook 35 PC 24

CCU @ VMI

The Chants needed a win in the worst way after taking it on the chin against Stony Brook two weeks ago and they squeaked out a three pointer over a fading Gardner-Webb squad. VMI lost to Army last week and failed to reach double digits for the fifth time this year. CCU needs this win if they want to have a chance to lock up third in the conference (possibly second)

Coastal Carolina 24 VMI 14

Gardner-Webb @ Liberty

This is a tough stretch for the Runnin Bulldogs. After an overtime loss to Coastal last week, its up the road to the new WIlliams Stadium to face a Liberty team that has had its number...in a BIG way...since beating Liberty on Parents Weekend in 2006, the Flames have won the last three meetings by an average margin of 24.6 points (including a 51-28 thumping in Boiling Springs last year and a 30-10 decision their last trip to Lynchburg). Its MIlitary Appreciation Day on the mountain and there will be fireworks at halftime. Expect to see lots of fireworks during the game as well...

Liberty 42 Gardner-Webb 21

Charleston Southern @ Kentucky

The Bucs were thought to be a major player in the Big South race but have been on a bullet train in the wrong direction since losing QB AJ Toscano to a knee injury...this one isnt close

Kentucky 49 Charleston Southern 7

SBU loses at Presby in OT

VMI holds home field against the Chants by a touchdown

Liberty beats the Dawgs by a couple scores.

Kentucky wins easily.

Just like we were going to lose to PC last week too huh? You're full of it. It's just your wishful thinking, I guess. We don't lose at home, especially in conference. We've won 10 straight conference home games. We've only lost 2 games at home in the last 4 years.

As a liberty fan I have to say THE GW-LU prediction is ridiculous. But being a die a hard fan of my school I can also appreciate where you're coming from! Pull for your school no matter the odds! :thumb:

Sorry to break it to you but GW is finished, even with a win @LU. Best case scenario for GW is to finish 4-2 (which isn't going to happen, but let's pretend). If GW is 4-2 they would pin a loss on LU and SBU putting both of them at 1 loss. GW would still need the following help:

Coastal to lose at least 1 game.
LU to lose at least 1 more game.
SBU to lose at least 1 more game.

You need SBU to lose @PC Saturday, putting SBU at 1 loss (plus GW beating SBU) gives SBU 2 losses.
LU/CCU play, so you'd want to pull for LU which would put CCU at 2 losses.
LU/SBU play, so you'd want to pull for SBU which would put LU at 2 losses.

The standings at that point would be:
SBU 4-2
LU 4-2
CCU 4-2
GW 4-2

Tiebreaker is points allowed in conference.
LU has allowed 51
SBU 58
CCU 72
GW 81

So, enjoy trying to play spoiler the rest of the way and better luck next season :thumb:

LU is NOT going to look past G-W...the FANS might...but there is no way on God's blessedly green earth that we are going to look the Bulldogs OR the Chanticleers. Its getting down to the nitty gritty time and with the AQ in play and LU knowing how close theyve come the last three years you better believe that they are going to be laser focused (especially after a close win over PC last week). They may not steamroll like they did last year but I dont think this is going to be a trap game for them

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

here is what I posted over on FlameFans about the game:

LU has scored 40 or more points in every game at Williams Stadium since losing to JMU in the monsoon last year...Charleston Southern saw the end of LU's steak of 50 point home games at 5 (if you count the matchup at City Stadium) but LU has scored 40 or more points in seven straight games in Lynchburg, not to mention that the average margin in the last three meetings between these two is 24.6 points (including the 51-28 thrashing in Boiling Springs last year). The running game is not as dominant as it has been but SirChauncey Holloway is establishing himself as the feature back after Aldreakis Allen left the team before the season. If G-W wants to have a chance in this game they canNOT let it turn into a track meet from the get go. The Runnin Bulldogs have only scored > 30 points twice (vs. Akron and vs. Charleston Southern) and the Flames have not allowed >30 points in 13 straight home games (holding all but two opponents below 20...JMU in 09 and Charleston Southern this year). LU has not lost a game at home when scoring 30 or more points since Nov 2, 1991, a stretch of 57 straight games...if G-W wants to win they are going to need to keep the score low...otherwise its going to be a long afternoon...

Good win today by Stony Brook. I was worried - we have a tendency to play to the level of our competition. We kept our heads in it and made it a cakewalk.

One thing I do worry about - penalties. Way to many....

That was our downfall last year and again this season. We had 2 TD's called back last week against CSU because of dumb mental errors.
