Um....no he wasn't.

Number one reason I hate UNI. It has nothing to do with them dominating the MVFC *or them cheap shotting our running back into a wall at our place. It has everything to do with that you have a UND... pardon me, a "That school from up North" alum coaching your team.

I won't touch the "cheap shot" reference, as I don't want to get that shit started here.

If you are referring to our basketball coach, Ben Jacobson, yes he did go to UND. He also coached at NDSU. So...you hated NDSU for a short time as well?
Wasn't the head coach there so I never hated NDSU. He saw the light brother. The better color Green as I like to say. I suppose that is the only reason they are good is because he coached at NDSU. Still, I hate anything associated with UND. Period. And sorry I didn't make that distinction buy yes. Ben Jacobson.
UNI basketball being as good as we are right now has nothing to do with Coach Jake being an assistant at NDSU for one season

Wait, how could you hate UNI for Ben Jacobson. That is preposterous.

Class guy and was at one time asked to be our head coach.

The worst thing a UNI fan has ever said about Jacobson is....He only won 18 games each his first two seasons at UNI - a record for most games won combined in a coaches first two seasons at UNI.

I'm sure he is a great guy. Never meet him and probably won't. I hate UNI because they have "That school up North" alum winning games for them. MY UND HATRED RUNS DEEP.

You might be right SEMOFB2010, but look at the common opponent we both most recently had, SIU.

MSU allowed them 41 pts NDSU 6

MSU scored 51 pts NDSU 20.

NDSU took a legit 400 yd/game offense from SIU, cut their production by 20% or so, had their average day and won.

Thats the secret to The BISON. Slow the other team up enough and get what the averages tell us we have coming and its a BISON win.

I dont have time to compare the BISON on the road to the Bears at home, but I would look at the UNI or Kansas games. The Ill State game is a good one too. We shot ourselves in the foot against a very good team.

Dude, you are clueless about the game of football. :ohno:

SIU has not at any time this year been anywhere close to a "legit 400 yd/game offense". In fact, I believe that ISU and NDSU are the only teams that SIU put up 300 yds of offense on this season. The story this week is NDSU's weak offense against MSU's weak defense. Given how both teams struggled with an SIU team that was missing 40% of it's two-deep chart I don't think either one will have success in the playoffs, although I think that a 7-4 Bison team should probably be included in a 20 team field.

I think MSU is going to win. I don't think NDSU can score enough points to win this one on the road. MSU has a tough offense.

But NDSU has much more to play for, so that could swing it in their direction.

I agree, it would be a breakout season for the Bison.

Bison need to score first and get some plays on special teams.

Im not sure I know anything about SIU except the NDSU BISON Defense only allowed the Dawgs 2 field goals. Who cares how many yards. Thats starting to sound like the excuses for losing to the FBS teams. "We fumbled" they whined! :ugeek:

The Dawgs, /smirk, got 352 yds on the BISON and they are bragging.

SIU and the rest of the MVFC are in the past for NDSU right now. The only team that matters is Missouri State University.

Right now its hard to tell what is going to happen. I can take a couple of guesses. The Prestigious Fargo Dome stands empty. Nothing. No lights no traffic. Only 62% of the Football Conglomerate dedicated strategic foot ball bandwidth has been employed in the past 24 hrs. The coaches were deployed earlier in the week under the cover of the old "Harmless Distraction" OK-Dokie. It seems simple but hard to pull off.

Forces of football tradition are starting to focus on Springfield. When The NDSU BISON roll into Plaster Sports Complex, capacity 16,600, things are going to change. The power structure of the MVFC is going to be toppled. Something is happening here. What it is ain't exactly clear. I have seen great things. :notworthy:

What??? Only a Bison fan can take 3 losses in conference the year that the conference is down comparable to years past and think they are world beaters and will now be the "Cream" of the MFVC. :dunce:

The consensus is the MVFC has parity but is playing the best foot ball in the country. A SEMO fan of course would have little, if any insight into this matter. Let me use the fans unfortunate comment as a teachable moment.

The NDSU BISON are among the teams playing the best football in the country. The BISON are in an elite bunch of highly respected, nationally ranked foot ball teams, none playing with the behind the scenes support network the NDSU Football Conglomerate has assembled over the past 115 years.

Hopefully SEMOFB2010, that will give you the insiders look you need to bring you up to speed on the history of the legendary football program being nurtured at the College of Foot Ball Science at North Dakota State University. At the same time this should help you understand what is meant when "an insider" says "The forces of football tradition are beginning to focus on Springfield."

Our select coaching staff has moved forward with a proactive management style in assembling what might be the best and most thoroughly prepared game plan of the season. Certain coaches were sent "to the field" under cover of darkness to meet with some of the great minds in the game of college football today. They were summoned actually at the request of our Head Coach.

From these meeting information is being exchanged that will impact the game in Springfield Saturday. Depending on whom they have had council other games will be influenced as well. After all it is a support network and information is being exchanged.

Our players began their study portion of this weeks practice on Wednesday morning. You see at this stage of the season the physical skills are honed to perfection. Early in the week the fundamentals were practiced: running, catching, tackling, blocking and passing. That is now behind the players. At this point the game is all about intellectual preparation. Here at the home Offices of the NDSU Football Conglomerate the greatest body of knowledge known to the game is stored deep under the stands of the Fabulous and Prestigious Fargo Dome.

Thats about all I am allowed to say right now SEMOFB2010, hope that helps you. Im expecting some information later today or this evening. In the mean time remember "Sportsmanship of the highest order is the key to success in foot ball and in life". Its a code we all live by here at NDSU.

Well considering that I did graduate and played football at a "GATEWAY" university. Then I would know more about the landscape of the MFVC then you would because my four years playing ball is longer then your team has been in the Conference. :o

I don't think it matters what minds you have brought together your offense will still sucks. Hope you do have a great game plan because that is what it's going to take. Mo St will be tuff at home. But if you win then you got another week to think you’re a football dynasty.

Well, if you are a player SEMOFB2010 you understand the importance of productive practice. That is one thing we stress here at NDSU. Our highly trained coaches reinforce the basic skills and techniques of the game through repetition and communication with the players. Mental awareness is highly valued.

Every practice week will also devote time on the study of the game. The philosophy, strategies and tactics that serve those "schemes". This is where play development enters the picture and all the other aspects of really "knowing" the game come to light.

Thats why the NDSU Football Conglomerate has supported the College of Football Science since midway through the 20th century. Before that it was a lose connection of kindred spirits gathering and preserving the game itself.

There is the need for exercise, good diet and hygiene. A healthy body is a strong body.

And last but not least is the spiritual aspect. Anyone trying to acheive at the highest levels must be at ease with themselves, able to focus and employ what they know. This means spiritual awareness and expression.

The results of the game will reveal the success of the practice and that my friend is an understanding independent of winning or losing. That helps explain the difference between a "Football Scientist" like myself and a fan or even a player.

We are now in the part of game week where things settle down. The mood is calm but excited. There is a low buzz about the game. Nobody is bragging or otherwise insisting on a BISON win. This is a time for reflection. The players are gathering and talking. The responsibilities and roles have been assigned. The way to attack their defense has been laid out. the plan to defend the offense is being deployed to the players as we speak.

NDSU will field a very strong football team on Saturday. A team made up of very highly trained and talented football players at every position. A team that will be focused on Victory. A young team that is ready to take that big step into the limelight of big time football and they know only victory can do that.

Tomorrow is Game Day. Its a day of honor. A time to remember the old "AC".

NDSU has still not announced the starting QB. Its a quiet QB controversy but its there. The BISON have been successful with Jose Mohler at the helm but Jensen is healthy. Jensen relieved Mohler earlier in the season when he was injured, did a decent job but got hurt himself. So Mohler has his starting job back, but Brock Jensen is right there ready to play. We will see tom. when The BISON offense takes the field.

Is this the biggest game since:

1) The Gophers either one
2) This century
3) Kansas

Who knows? Big game.

To sum it up so far:

1) NDSU plays better than the stats because they are an improving football team
2) The BISON are good
3) The BISON have a good game plan and support network
4) The BISON coaching staff has a QB controversy. UNI has a no brainer. Do they even have 2 QBs?
5) The BISON are the biggest draw in the MVFC. Expect a big crowd tomorrow.
6) Field Turf
7) We play them all for the "Old AC"

Its simple Gil, some people understand that the statistics a football team compiles are the same as a companies balance sheet/income statement. You just have to remember that past performance is no guarantee of future success.

If you know what the numbers mean, how they relate to each other and incorporate that into your own investigation and observations a person can build a very nice portfolio.

On sports talk they are saying Jensen is the probable starter. They like his size and arm strength. Its windy in Springfield today. There are some questions about his readiness but they are certain in the knowledge it should be Jensen. The callers are in favor of Jensen too.

They are split about the playoffs if the BISON Lose. Montana and UNI losing might open the door for them.
