We got our first look at Adrian Peterson at this morning’s practice, which started at 9 a.m. It’s the first of two practices today. The first will run until 11:15 a.m. and the second will go from 3-5 p.m.
Peterson was taking reps with the second team offense in the first hour of practice.
The Vikings released free agent rookie running back Arkee Whitlock, who played college football at Southern Illinois.
Peterson, the Vikings’ top choice in the April draft and the No. 7 selection overall, agreed to a six-year deal (really five) Sunday that contains $17 million in guaranteed money.
As Seifert pointed out in his story this morning, we’ll also find out whether Peterson can practice without limitations. He, of course, is returning from a collarbone injury that forced him to miss much of last season.

May the Vikings live to regret it!
