Words have a lot of different meanings. When used as a noun some of you could be conglomerates:

I dont hate MSU, I just see them as a road block in the destiny of the Mighty BISON. I wish them no ill will. A great contest on Saturday, competitive, athletic, well played and well coached will ignite the region no matter who wins.

A victory by NDSU will be epic. No, I dont hate the Cats. I dont hate anybody.

My !! Elon University hands down. Never seen a football team play so dirty. I can predict what is going to happen every year with them. If the QB is killing them on the field, expect that QB to have to leave the game with either a late or out of bounds hit, normally low around the ankles. They don't play football, they play Thug Ball.
Their coach has to be aware of it, and would be surprised if he doesn't condone or teach it. I have never seen this happen at any other school ever. Have seen at least four incidents this year, 5 last year and three the year before last. No doubt about it. They should be kicked out of the SoCon.

JBB - you're using varying definitions. I took definiton 1 - as a noun, but elaborated on the total definiton; which contains the adj heterogeneous (materials.) You can't use every defintion for one thing. Maybe you just need to find a different word.....or a compound word like pseudo-conglomerate.

So you saw 12 different incidents of "thuggery" from Elon over the past three years? Maybe it is because I am slightly biased, but I have seen nowhere near that many plays that could even be considered "dirty hits."

I've sworn to stop talking about these hits because, until I see video of all of them, I gonna think one thing and others will think something else. There's nothing that's gonna change that. I am a little surprised to see Elon on this list so much, though I will admit that we have talked a lot and have been unable to back it up. In defense of the Elon fan base, a lot of the morons who talked trash were bandwagoners who won't even come on these boards anymore. Sadly, we still pay for their dumb comments.

That's just how I feel. As for the most hated teams, I'd say Liberty or NDSU.

In all fairness, I throw out the "dirty play" card just ot get a rise out of Elon fans. I didn't watch the Elon game in Boone 3 yrs ago where apparantly this started, so I can't comment. The play last year that continued the "dirty play" theme was one of their guys hitting Armanti on the knee after a pass. Personally, I didn't think that was an intentional dirty play as the culprit was rushing hard trying to get through a blocker, lost his footing & went in a little low & out of control, but he seemed to fall into Armanti's knee more than "hit" his knee. But, due to the previous year, perception is reality in the eyes of alot of App fans. This past year, I was pretty toasted at the game & don't recall alot of dirty play except for the late hit on Pressley. From my vantage point, Pressley was down & the Elon player came in low for an unnecessary hit that he could have pulled up to avoid. But, it was still between the whistles, Pressley was going for a 1st down to seal the victory, Elon was within a TD of winning & you had to like their QB's chances if they got the ball back. In other words, it was a late hit, but not flagrantly late or provocative.

I was at the game three years ago and never saw anything. I also saw a video of the hit on Presley (at least I think it was the hit) and it didn't look like much of anything to me.

Can you give specific examples of all 12 incidents? I don't know what you consider "thug ball" but I was at just about every Elon game this year, and I only saw one play that was borderline dirty (hit on Pressley). We discussed it earlier in this thread and the conclusion was that it was a bit late, but not flagrantly late. The only things I saw all year where in the WCU game, when Western players started skirmishes on 2 consecutive plays for back to back Personal Fouls.
