They probably don't. Otherwise, the coaches and players...ya know...those guys doing all that "playing football" stuff and not posting on message boards...have complete knowledge of it.Pwns wrote:You have no idea what you are up against.GannonFan wrote: Luckily, we won't have to worry about that. Lucky for the CAA that Nova is a member, otherwise the CAA only be winning a lowly 67% of their playoff games against non-CAA teams.Thumper 76 wrote:Without Nova the CAA is 2-1 against teams not in the CAA.

I doubt that those ring will be any help next week in the Tub and while next year maybe GSU's year.. this year is another matter entirely...blueballs wrote:No, GSU just says "Look at the rings boys," and "We're only starting two seniors and have only 3 seniors on the entire two deep on both sides of the ball so get used to it- again."

I just can't get over how amusing this love affair these folks have with their conference is. I prefer rooting for a team, but hey, thats just me. Talk about living vicariously through others. Judging this thing by teams and not conferences, I think Nova will slaughter Eastern, but Delaware may be in trouble. Nova looks way better than Delaware and GSU looks way better than Eastern.

Admit it, CatMilf. When you saw the CAA walk into the room and drop its pants, you were pretty impressed with what you saw.CatMom wrote:So you know those guys are into kinky stuff...how?GannonFan wrote:Luckily, we won't have to worry about that. It's kinda weird but it's very much the same regarding CAA basketball and in other sports. Colonial fans tend to be a close knit, albeit disfunctional family. It's probably because nearly every school involved in the conference wants to better themselves in athletics and gain more national respect...so when one member of the family does well, it reflects on the upward swing that the rest of the schools are trying to collectively achieve. Social websites such as CAAzone, even though there are a lot of arguments, probably make CAA members closer. And then there's the basketball tournament in Richmond where we meet so many other fans from different CAA schools...and figure out they're not as bad as they seem (except for VCU). It makes rooting for them much easier.JBS wrote:I just can't get over how amusing this love affair these folks have with their conference is. I prefer rooting for a team, but hey, thats just me. Re: Would it be fair to say...
Nova and UD played an overtime game a few weeks ago which UD lost 28-21 on a fumble at the goal line in OT. In that game Nova jumped to a quick 14-0 1st quarter lead assisted by an opening KO return for a TD. From the 2d quarter on UD was without question.. the better team.. to say Nova is "way better" than UD is just plain bogus.JBS wrote:I just can't get over how amusing this love affair these folks have with their conference is. I must admit, it was very weird yesterday actually caring somewhat who won the EWU/NDSU game. But to sit here and hang my fandom hat on a CONFERENCE just seems foreign.PenthouseClosedEnd wrote:You wouldn't understand because Montana has been the only torch-bearer for the Big Fluffy for so long.JBS wrote:I just can't get over how amusing this love affair these folks have with their conference is. I think it's an Eastern thing. I'm a big Pitt fan, and the Big East talk is out of control every single season (in basketball

So last year it was Delaware flying the CAA playoff flag in absentia. Looks like Richmond is taking their place this year.

If you spent the last few months knowing you're a Top 10 team at our level ... even with 15 starters lost and a slew of really bad injuries ... and you're struggling for a better than .500 in the CAA ... and you see all the internet knowitalls posting Jackonville State, and SEMO and SFA and (insert MVC team here) and (insert Big Sky team here) and Bethune Cookman in the Top 10 of their poll .... you'd get it.Skjellyfetti wrote:So last year it was Delaware flying the CAA playoff flag in absentia. I'm sure this is the way Delaware felt last year.
Somebody else in the CAA, probably Villanova (unless they move up), will feel the same way next year. They are more than welcome to carry our flag 'in absentia' then.

Re: Would it be fair to say...
The fifth place SoCon team took you guys to OT in Richmond, and barely lost to both App. State and Wofford, and they could beat many teams in the final top 25. Yet they haven't been on here cheering on the SoCon teams and I'm not holding my breath waiting for them to wish GSU well. Who knows, though. Maybe the SoCon could benefit from the kind of solidarity that the CAA folks have.PenthouseClosedEnd wrote:If you spent the last few months knowing you're a Top 10 team at our level ... even with 15 starters lost and a slew of really bad injuries ... and you're struggling for a better than .500 in the CAA ... and you see all the internet knowitalls posting Jackonville State, and SEMO and SFA and (insert MVC team here) and (insert Big Sky team here) and Bethune Cookman in the Top 10 of their poll .... you'd get it.Skjellyfetti wrote:So last year it was Delaware flying the CAA playoff flag in absentia.
