This Bill Fette fellow may indeed be a nice guy, who knows? He is obviously incompetent or worse. It is possible there was pressure on him to interpret things in such a careless and capricious (lacking a rational basis) fashion. At the very least he is a nice guy incompetent at his job. At the worst he is far more sinister. Why the calls were made on the field in the first place is also a mystery. With such a huge volume of calls in favor of one has to wonder. It might be just more than one incompetent blunderer who is of course loved by everyone.

Let this type of injustice stand and the game suffers. The EWU win is not an earned victory and as such brought nothing to the school except the focus of a curious football community wondering why people like Bill Fette are allowed to be the decision makers when they are obviously incompetent.

Call it as you see it woodcutter, but when the game deteriorates to the point where you are no longer the benefactor to an ill gotten gain you will no longer be such a brash and loud braggart.

As I said earlier in the thread, I too believe that the QB was down on the last fumble but it was so close that they didn't have sufficient evidence to overturn the call. After watching the replays I really saw nothing that could change my mind either direction, and clearly the officials didn't either. It was close, and a crappy way to lose a football game, but there was no conspiracy to keep the Bison out of the semi-finals. I'm sure 95% of EWU fans wish the game hadn't ended the way it did either (mostly so they wouldn't have to put up with threads like this). I'm not one bit surprised that it is Pac-10 refs at the center of this though, they seem to manage to get themselves in an officiating controversy every week.

Our team and coaches are not making any excuse. The statement from the team is that this game will be used as a motivator next season. The BISON plan to build on this outrageous injustice.

Any call for an investigation of the incompetent officiating and Bill Fette of the Pac-10 in particular will not come from the NDSU BISON Football Conglomerate. This will be done in a very diplomatic and behind-the-scenes-fashion. If the game is going to be allowed to suffer this type of indignity without repercussion the future is not bright. If the division wants to make this type of incompetent officiating an acceptable norm or standard the results of all games will become meaningless.

I cant remember an outrage of such enormous proportions inflicted on the game of college football since the Delta State Insult in 2000.

Perhaps your secondary should have stopped the 1PLAY game winning score in overtime. Perhaps your team should have capitalized mover on the gifts that EWU gave in the form of turnovers. Perhaps if your dominant ground based offense had performed better they wouldn't have had to punt 4 times in the second half and you wouldn't have had to settle for a field goal that was BLOCKED. Are you and the "Golden Pile of Shit Committee" going to launch an investigation in to whether or not the officials had a hand in all those examples???? One play didn't lose the game for your precious Bison. Your team should be happy you even got in the playoffs. Ya, shure, ubetcha, go put your pacifier in and suck on it until next year. Maybe by then you will have graduated to training pants and gotten off the teat, but I doubt it.

Where is the picture immediately before this one? This is screen capped from a rolling video so that should be easy to get. I can't tell if the ball is touching the ground or if his hand is shielding the ball from the turf with any certainty.

Completly understand and appreciate all of the Bison complaints about Officials !!! I started to "post" last week after the SEMO game, but didn't because of the "fallout".
However, the Redhawks were the least penalized in our Conference this year and were called for (6) Holding Penalties in the first half against the Eagles !!!! All of the penalties were after gains of over 10 yards !!!
Oh yeah, they did call one penalty on the Eagles when they were inside of their 5 yd line after an incomplete pass !!!
I was so mad at the game!!! It was really very disheartening to be sent 2,000 miles and have to play on that God Awful turf and the Officiating be so "Suspect". Do not understand why the NCAA allows thus activity.

If this sort of behavior on the part of officials like Bill Fette of the Pac-10 goes unpunished its a game of disgrace not honor. To make those sorts of outlandishly improper calls over and over is an insult to the teams playing. to simply brush it aside as "part of the game" or claiming its an excuse is a sin of omission. Its every fans duty to stand up and insist on officiating that is fair and even handed. Just the opposite seems to be the trend at EWU and the BSC this season.
