The kid from SAM is the real deal. Keep an eye on him (and his stats) in 2011. I was impressed. (and that takes some doing)
Re: T.S.N.: the Top 10 RB's in 1-AA
Carlos is the fastest player in the conference (not just football, he has the top sprint times in the MVC track seasons). He won't run over people but you better get 2 guys on him within the first yard or two from the LOS or you won't catch him until he is 10 yards downfield...and if you don't have 2 guys on him there you won't get him at all.

I know he doesn't have the carries to warrant it, but I think Mario Brown warrants an Honorable Mention, and should be among the top ten by season's end. He's a smaller, shiftier, slightly less fast version of TJ. ![Nod ](./images/smilies/nod.gif)

We don't have "no" runningbacks down here. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
Doc
P.S. And the ones we "don't" have were all back healthy in the spring except Marcus Wiltz.

The UNI game was strange. NDSU put up 250 yds passing.clenz wrote:You could also ask UNI....who he ran for 12 yards against (.2 yards per carry...yes I said .2)lakesbison wrote:GO DJ... youre my DJ..... dude is top 3 RB in FCS, period!

There is no suprise the YSU/NDSU game was such an offensive show. Each team had a top 10 running back. That was a good game.

Re: T.S.N.: the Top 10 RB's in 1-AA
120 of which came in the last half of the 4th quarter when UNI dropped into a prevent defense and NDSU threw the ball on every play....NDSU had -40 yards rushing that day. I think the 247 we gave up in the air was solidly counteracted.JBB wrote:The UNI game was strange. You have more excuses for NDSU than anybody I know!

Jonathan Grimes of William & Mary is the real deal and IMHO is the best in the CAA.

Pierce took most of his reps this Spring as WR to make him a better receiver. He was good last year, but he will be great this year. UD would like to use him the same way they used Omar Cuff. He's a good one.

Cal Poly RB Mark Rodgers (2010 West Virginia transfer) rushed for 900 yards (6.9 yd/carry) with 8 rushing TDs last season. He also had 208 yards receiving and another 3 TDs not to mention he averaged 27.4 yards per kick return (33 returns). He should be on the list.

UNI kicked our ass, I thank you for it. We never would have went to playoffs if you hadn't exposed a few players on our OL. I know JBB likes to jabber about our KU win but it does say something that our line held their own in that game but was then dominated like never before the very next week to the point where one of the starting lineman who was a sophomore will probably never see meaningful snaps again.clenz wrote:You could also ask UNI....who he ran for 12 yards against (.2 yards per carry...yes I said .2)lakesbison wrote:GO DJ... youre my DJ..... dude is top 3 RB in FCS, period!

Grimes is a good back, but I'd take AP over him. AP was a true freshman last year and I thought he was better than Grimes then. Let him have a full offseason and he'll be even better this year. No knock on Grimes, who's very good in his own respect, but AP can do more.Monarch History wrote:Jonathan Grimes of William & Mary is the real deal and IMHO is the best in the CAA.
