SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

No offense, SH......but sometimes I struggle to figure out if you really mean some of this stuff or if it's just your sense of humor.

You've been to the DMV haven't you? Have you seen some of the folks in line there?

Who won the NC last year?
I like the logic, NDSU came closest to beating EWU, so the MVC is #2.

Yeah, but UD was closer, so CAA is #2 and MVC #3 by those standards. And that's only because we didn't get to play a SOCON team... Nova did that dirty work for us. :thumb:

I read what you wrote, but they only reason you have the Big South that high is because of Liberty. :dunce:

I would put the MVFC ahead of the Big Sky and SoCo. Just because the Big Sky has the best team doesnt mean their conference is better. Top to bottom, at least I would say last year, I think the MVFC had more quality teams than both conferences.

It’s the off-season. There isn’t anything to do but engage in pissing contests anyways.

Have to disagree with your last statement. Last year was the weakest MVC in a decade at least. The best record in the conference was a weak 7-4, and we would have had one team in the playoffs if the new system hadn't diluted the field.

SIU must have been really, really down last year then, to finish so lowly in a bad conference. :o

It usually takes us multiple seasons to accumulate four conference losses, let alone finish in third place.

Interesting what a difference perspective makes. SIU's worst conference finish in a decade equals NDSU's best conference finish since stepping up to FCS ball. I guess we're just spoiled. Anyway, the MVC should be up noticeably over last year. A lot of youth in the MVC last year.

Turned out beating SIU wasn't such a big deal afterall.

That 2/3 MVC playoff teams couldn't do it is strong supporting evidence for the "down year for MVC" argument. :coffee:

Gil, STFU.

SIU sucked a big one last year, and they still won as many games as NDSU did, so you can quit with your backhanded barbs that you keep throwing out there. The conference did suck last year.

In other words, since we let those hayseed schools from the frozen tundra of the upper midwest into OUR conference?

WKU was the last team to win a National Championship in 2002, that was prior to the conference expanding. At least one of the hayseeds won 2 playoff games last year, what did the old guard conference snobs do?

Down cycles come and go, nature of the beast. :coffee:

You're correct that WKU was superior to their replacements; a pity we lost them. :(

Not only their replacements, but also superior to the old guard.

Some of the old guard was back then only the rotting carcass of a football program.
