No it was the O-line. We had a game against Valdosta State before a couple of the guys got back that told the story. We rushed for 23 yards, passed for 64 and lost 5-0. Of course we only had 4 days to prepare and they had 11 and hit us with all kind of new blitz packages. After we got 2 starters back we beat them 43-20 in the playoffs.
Let's just say that I won't miss playing Valdosta State or Delta State for a few years. We basically have to play them twice each season as our conference is dominant in the region. And it's always a shootout. My heart suffers.
I realize we'll face tough competition each week in the FCS. I'm just saying facing your toughest rivals two times consistently each year is taxing - at least for the alumni.

Chapple didn't have the perfect season for us (we certainly haven't lost four games in a while) but we didn't have a returning starter and he was a great addition. I'm very excited that he will lead the team this season with two years (one with us) of college experience.

haha I dont blame you. I wouldn't be able to talk about it either. UNA's rivals are probably hating themselves right now seeing one of their rivals move up a level.
If I was the Big South, I'd jump all over this. No question the profile of the conference improves with UNA added. It's all about following, and that school has a following. Not to mention Terry Bowden as a coach

I think any member of the Big South would welcome this with open arms. I could see them becoming really competitive in a short amount of time. Plus, I'd look forward to visiting their stadium for away games. Of Course, with Kyle Kallander in charge getting UNA is probably just a pipe dream haha

Coming out of the America East, which until recently had a commissioner who also had his head in the sand...I can only hope something wonderful comes of this.
To his credit, he did say no to UNCC. That would have been a very poor admission.

You should charge Chris a finders fee.
And welcome UNA people.
Indeed. I posted that I was selling my college basketball jerseys (33 of them) and couple of NFL jerseys(extras) on facebook. He was saying WTF!?! You're getting rid of your collection(he probably spit beer all over his computer when I posted that). I said I was NOT getting rid of my NFL jeresy/mini helmet collection but I told my wife I'd post the cbb jerseys on fb just so she'd leave me alone. I should make him buy my basketball jerseys or send me a Montana football jersey or something.
It's just habit. Division II fans and community prefer D2 over DII or D-II and use it as a mark of pride (for whatever reason). D3 much the same. But I'm not totally taking up for UNA Media. They are so good at so many things and then miss others.

I think the OVC would be a great match for both UNA and the OVC. with the addition of Belmont into the league that gives us 2 non football playing schools along with SIUE. Great DII school which will compete right away
They also beefed up what's looking to be our best O-line in years and some of those new guys will help us as we continue to build for the move up: http://www.timesdaily.com/article/20110 ... U-strength" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Regardless if these players have disciplinary problems or not before they got to UNA its pretty impressive just the number of transfers from FBS teams they can land.

Yes some have had problems but a large majority of them haven't. The differnce here is, unlike Florida, one strike and you're out.

Big South + UNA =
I wouldn't be opposed to that except for travel. Maybe in a couple of years they will find a way for cars to run on hydrogen cheaply.

Like him or not, Terry Bowden brings exposure to whatever division we will be in. I KNOW we couldn't have been the only school trying to land Jenkins. It's always a major help to be well-connected.

I like him, he's sort of the Tony Dungy of college football trying to fix kid's problems.
Ex-UGA Dawg Marcus Dowtin will plug the hole at MLB this season while the youngster mature. “I’m a wild dude on the field,” he said. “I love to hit and play the game with a lot of intensity. I want to lead by example and get everybody excited. http://www.timesdaily.com/article/20110 ... comes-Lion" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Why not the Big Sky? Our footprint is not nearly big enough.

If we could find a place to play somewhere in between.
