Has your conference released the coaches poll yet? Do you agree? How is your team expected to do?
My Eagles are were voted #1 in the BSC in a close vote. I still feel these Eagles are under rated but time will tell!!

Re: Coaches Polls
Interesting how Weber and NAU flip-flop between the polls, but everyone else is the same.
I'd bump UM up to #2 and Sac to #3, but that's just me. As far as people NOT named SH are concerned, I'm shocked at how many are accepting last year as more than just a fluke and placing us fourth, not MUCH lower.

Re: Coaches Polls
I think EWU, UM, Sac, and MSU are close to even. All four are a bit above the rest, though the also-rans other than ISU & NoCo could potentially be around .500. The Jace Davis suspension really hurts the Bears while the Bengals again look lousy. Idaho State might have a passable defense & solid special teams, but their offense is likely to be a mistake-filled mess. They're trying to be a pass-heavy, no-huddle team despite no proven anything at QB, they have no running game to fall back on, and their O-Line has been terrible for years.
Re: Coaches Polls
I agree. I think ISU will move the ball better than the past few years, but I expect to see a ton of TO's from them without a solid run game.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Idaho State might have a passable defense & solid special teams, but their offense is likely to be a mistake-filled mess. They are moving Moore into the backfield though, that should make it interesting and get them a few home runs.EWURanger wrote:I agree. I know that is what Kramer is saying but I just don't see a hurry up offense with Baily calling the plays. Heck we always had a couple of delay of game calls because he didn't get the play in on time when he was at MSU.
Re: Coaches Polls
I thought it was strange to hear that a Kramer coached team would be running a pass-heavy hurry-up offense. At EWU, and I think it might have been the same way at MSU, he liked to run the ball a lot.cats2506 wrote:They are moving Moore into the backfield though, that should make it interesting and get them a few home runs.EWURanger wrote:

Thing is, passing every down might be the only way they move the ball. Agree moving Moore into the backfield will give them some spark there, but I don't really see him as an every down back. They'll need a rotation going there.

Big South Media Day is next Wednesday so we'll see how the coaches and media shake things out...Liberty has been tops in the preseason poll the last thre or four seasons (I forget) Hoping that we finally get another outright title this time around (after last winning outright in 2008)

Re: Coaches Polls
I just noticed something interesting.
The last several years or so, we've seen BSC fans beating up on UNC and UNC fans fighting back. This year, UNC is barely an afterthought in the discussion, and we see hardly a peep from their fans about it.
What's going on?

Re: Coaches Polls
Not much to say. Our best offensive player is ineligible and lots of question marks on defense. The good news is we have a new coach that has always over achieved, ever since he played in college at UNC.SuperHornet wrote:I just noticed something interesting.

Re: Coaches Polls
He played for UNC? That alone will be great for butts in the seats for the first year or two. And if he can recruit to deliver wins, so much the better. That said, I hope fans (in general; I think you're too smart to jump to conclusions like this) don't try to hold the new guy responsible for things like the ineligible player, the seeds of which were clearly planted before the coach arrived.BigSkyBears wrote:Not much to say. Re: Coaches Polls
Interesting that they are moving him into the backfield. Seeing as they might have OL problems, I would think he would be better used in the slot getting some quick hits on screen passes or something else to get him the ball in open space. Although I guess with a pass heavy offense, he could get a lot of RB screens and catches in the flat. Either way, Moore in open space is going to be tough for opponents to stop and this is what I think ISU should try and do.cats2506 wrote:They are moving Moore into the backfield though, that should make it interesting and get them a few home runs.EWURanger wrote:

Re: Coaches Polls
I can’t say I disagree with this. We don’t deserve to be polled in the top 3 of the BSC until we prove we belong there. I kind of expect the BSC to play out similarly to last season (at least at the top). Hopefully we can land the 3rd spot without a 3 way tie this season. I have no idea how the bottom half of the conference will turnout.cats2506 wrote:Big Sky Coaches Poll
