Thanks for the support, but so far a lot of WM fans are not thrilled with what we have seen to date. Historically, we are known for innovative offense, and solid execution. We are hoping that the offense breaks out for us soon......

That's an accurate assessment. Let's hope things get sorted out real fast, or we're in for a disappointing season.

Amen! I have had many worries over W&M defenses over the years, but never the offense, until this year. I attended the UVA game but didn't see the VMI game. I can't imagine scoring 24 vs. the Keydets is encouraging...

The 24 was off a bit in that we had good yardage, and had penaties and an interception take points off in the red zone, but of late it seemed we could almost score at will against VMI. What I saw yesterday was a solid running game, but no real fire in the offense, and no real downfield threats. That is what seems (to date) different from past years. The team may have lost out a bit when they missed workouts due to hurricane Irene, so fans will want to see if there is any improvement over the next couple of weeks.

LeadBolt, I bet your UR brother is feeling pretty good about now.....

Not that I really care -- best time to start the FCS poll is the 4th week or so ...

I think you're trying to look at this in a vacuum, UNH. Did you see my Week 1 poll? This is about what I get after the results of the games. EWU lost, so they had to drop a bit. Since UNI and UM both won, I had to evaluate who had the better win. UNI won that argument, at least in my mind. App and Delaware both won, so they weren't going to drop, either. The only other option would have been to drop EWU MANY spots, and I didn't think the margin was enough to warrant that.

The problem with the argument that a team won, and therefore can't drop, is that it implies that you were right to rank them where you did in the first place.

While ranking EWU and UD high in preseason polls is reasonable based on their results last year, EWU shouldn't be #2 right now and UD shouldn't be in the top 5. Forget last year, and forget preseason rankings, look at what the teams have done the first two weeks of this season.

I haven't spoken with OBob, but my guess is that he is enjoying UR's performance so far. I guess I'm going to have to move them up in my poll. So far this year they are playing better than either W&M, UD or UNH.

I hear ya on WoCo - they damn near beat Clemson this week, but struggled with a Presbyterian team last week.

That being said, putting in the top 5 an ASU team that got whacked last week and beat up on a NCStateAgSchool badly this week would follow the same rationale.

The margin? Who did they lose to?

Honestly, nobody looks like a Top 5 team right now.

FWIW, not only am I eligible to vote, I DID vote, and the CS poll put my Hornets higher than I did after Week 1.
