Whoomp...there it is!

"So what are the Old Dominion Monarchs getting into as they dive into the Colonial Athletic Association in football this weekend?

They are joining a league that produces - whether it's national championships or NFL players.

The CAA's football conference, formerly the Atlantic 10, has produced four Football Championship Subdivision titleists in the past eight years and has 32 players on NFL rosters this season.

By comparison, the Big Sky Conference, home to defending national champion Eastern Washington, has 22 players on NFL rosters, and the Southern, home to perennial powers Appalachian State and Georgia Southern, has 13.

The CAA is good enough for its teams to post 11 wins against FBS teams in the past six seasons."

NDSU has more wins and sports a NFL Defense.

If those numbers don't prove the CAA is superior to every other FCS conference I don't know what does....unless if you're a conference that has NDSU in it.

NDSU has three Olympic gold medals in football...and football isn't even an Olympic sport.

Yawn. The only thing that should matter to you is that your team blew a shot at another national title to a Big Fluffy team. :thumb: :coffee:

CAA had (until this year) 14 teams, whereas most other leagues only have 9 (or less). You do the math on the whole "players in the NFL argument". :? :? :?

I wonder if the newbie CAA FB reporter counted Marques Colston, Kyle Arrington, Sephen Bowen or Willie Colon in that lot. Hofstra no longer has football, of course, but they are all product of this conference.

I'm guessing he did if you read the whole article....
Two Delaware alums are playing in the NFL: Flacco and Cleveland Browns free safety Mike Adams. Two is a low number for CAA teams: Massachusetts and Richmond have five each, while William and Mary, Maine, and former CAA team Hofstra have four each.

Can games against Dook really be counted as FBS wins?

Montana has seven active roster NFL'ers. I think only App. State is close.

We have four seniors right now that are good prospects. A 6'3" corner with 4.4 speed that's a lock to go in the 3rd-4th round. A linebacker that's 6'2" 245 and is leading the FCS in tackles at 15 per game, and two Offensive linemen that go 6'5" 315 and 6'7" 300. I bet two of those four make active rosters.

Look your school up.

If by '14' you really meant '12' and if by 'until this year' you meant 'untli last year', then I agree with you.

That puts them one up on the KC Chiefs.
