Well, it won't be, because this is a different team.

Show me things from THIS YEAR with THIS TEAM that proves we're going to roll CCU. THIS YEAR. THESE PLAYERS. No Ryan Greiser or Wynton Jackson or Nick Hursky stats. THIS YEAR!

Want a trend?

When playing teams at FCS or lower this season... CCU is 5-0, LU is 3-2.

Im a stickler for accuracy so unless there was an extra game thrown in that most of us didnt know about, FIFY.

Also, other than Furman (who as I said, lost to Samford this past weekend), what meaningful opponents have CCU played? Also, CCU hasnt won a road game of even eyebrow raising significance in 5 years.

Also bear in mind, that we havent had a ton of eye popping stats the last couple years (outside of Mike Brown), and yet we still pounded most teams on the conference schedule. Just because the stats to this point dont bear it out, doesnt mean that we could be in for a surprise this weekend. (as a sidenote, AA finished with 553 yards in 2009...106 of them came against CCU. Am I saying that he will repeat that performance? Doubt it...but I do think that now that we are in the "second season", we could see a very different team.)

What meaningful opponents has LU beat?

What eyebrow raising road wins does LU have in 5 years? Don't say Ball State, BSU was worse than most middle of the pack FCS teams.

At the end of the day (and I will agree btw that Liberty hasnt beaten anyone meaningful), the coaches in the Big South know that the conference championship is going to have to go through the boys from Lynchburg every year, and for the most part, even with a "underachieving" Liberty team, the Flames have found a way to burn brightest when the conference schedule rolls around

Ding Ding Ding, winner. TTL and anyone else can talk, but the run is coming. In the 2 close losses to better teams, I see a good team making mistakes that CAN and will be fixed for a Big South Outright Championship and a run in the playoffs. This is my opinion, and I am as allowed to have it as anyone else. With one voice you site state and ignore stats. Take the stats and throw them out because they do not matter for either team Saturday. This is a must win for both teams. It will be a great game of back and forth, but in the end Mike brown and Liberty win by better stats and 2 more scores.

What yesterday's game did was more or less make the Liberty-Stony Brook on Nov. 19 game the de facto championship game.

Sorry to the GWU/PC/VMI/CSU fans, but those teams are no threat. Because of the way the tiebreaker is set up, Stony Brook can afford to lose at home to Coastal, and as long as the Seawolves beat Liberty at home, they'll get the auto bid.

In a three-way tie where Coastal wins at SBU and SBU beats LU, Stony Brook would be 3-0 on the road in league, and road wins are the first criteria of the tiebreaker. Liberty and Coastal would both be 2-1.

SBU's road games are GWU, CSU and VMI. I can't see the Seawolves losing any of those, unless GWU makes some sort of drastic improvement between now and Nov. 12.

Coastal's only hope is to beat SBU head-to-head and have Liberty lose twice -- which isn't going to happen.

man, with the Big South getting an autobid I sort of wish ODU was in that conference...we'd probably be undefeated right now.

Agreed...our boys on the mountain (who just stomped the #20 team in the country) might have something to say about it if ODU thought theyd just waltz in and dominate the Big South

Well FWIW, ODU is already 4-0 against teams from the Big South.

Well FWIW, that was against GW, VMI (2) and PC! Those teams were a combined 5-19 in the Big South and 9-35 overall in the seasons you played them.

Play a real Big South team. Play LU, Coastal or SBU. Those 3 are all undefeated against the teams ODU played the last 2 years as well.

2010
ODU 14 GW 7 (at ODU)
LU 40 GW 14 (at LU)

ODU 45 VMI 28 (at ODU)
LU 41 VMI 7 (at VMI)

2009
ODU 34 PC 16 (at ODU)
LU 55 PC 19 (at LU)

ODU 42 VMI 35 (at ODU)
LU 55 VMI 14 (at LU)

You guys won't schedule us though.

Manson is right...why not have Mr Selig get Jeff barber on the phone and schedule a home and home...or the AD at Coastal or the AD at Stony Brook...but you wont do that...because you like your cupcakes...

Heck, Richmond's OOC slates are Big South heavy in the next few years, they finally are playing LU, and I like the home/home with G-W as well.

ODU still has to return that game down here in 12 or 13. Please do bring the fine cheerleaders with you if you don't mind.
