This is what's funny about Lakes' statement about #120 Fargo....its actually Fargo/Grand Forks!!!Mike Johnson wrote:The irony of this claim is that the #112 television market in the US is the Souix Falls market, which includes Brookings. SDSU cant stick up with NDSU moneywise/fan support wise/Media wise. Fargo is #112 in media market

Grand Forks is included in the Fargo market, which is the 120th largest TV market in the United States (as ranked by Nielsen).

NDSU and MONTANA should join the MWC. as travel partners, its their peer institutions and both would be competitive right away!!

It has NOTHING to do with a city managing or operating their own stations. GF does manage and operate 1 station that is popular in Fargo....FSSN (FIGHTING SIOUX SPORTS NETWORK). If it wasn't popular in Fargo why do I watch it on Cable One here in Fargo?Markets are identified by the largest city, which is usually located in the center. However, geography and the fact that some metropolitan areas have large cities separated by some distance can make markets have unusual shapes and result in two, three, or more names being used to identify a single region (such as Wichita-Hutchinson, Kansas; Chico-Redding, California; Albany-Schenectady-Troy, New York; and Harrisburg-Lebanon-Lancaster-York, Pennsylvania).

Re: MWC-CUSA merger (NDSU & MONTANA?)
Move up and join a conference with 22 teams in it? I'm not sure they'd be welcome or that they'd want to. Splitting up the TV deal revenue 24 ways can't generate that much revenue and the 22 teams already there aren't going to be looking for more mouths to feed. Also, they can play as many as 10 homes games a year at FCS if they have deep playoff runs, you can't do that at FBS.lakesbison wrote:http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootbal ... rge-101411

Moving up to join a 12-16 team BCS autobid conference like the PAC-12 or the Big 10 may be a good idea, but you'd have to get an invite first and I'm not sure either conference wants Montana or NDSU.

Let's win in the FCS before we even consider moving up in the ranks. It's this reason I believe Montana made the smart move by not joining the WAC....

Re: MWC-CUSA merger (NDSU & MONTANA?)
NDSU couldn't get into the MVFC without South Dakota State telling the conference its both or none, I doubt NDSU can get into the FBS without SDSU. NDSU is SDSU's bitch.kemajic wrote:Agree. And real travel partners are less than 1000 miles apart.grizzaholic wrote:
