just want to get other people thoughts on not announcing setting starters before the first game.
my example: montana has not announced that cb is our starting qb for the first game. this will be his third year in the system as either the starter or the backup. he was named to the Preseason Big Sky All-Conference team but the coach hasnt yet to name the offical starter. would this bother you if it was your team? on egriz.com it seems to bother a couple people.
i think it brings more competition to the team and makes players better in the long run. your thoughts?

Re: setting starters
It's a common practice to keep players motivated during practice.

Re: setting starters
Yeah, I would say motivation would be a key motive.
