You'd probably throw a ticker tape parade for any UD team that won a caa championship.93henfan wrote:That's cute how you guys give out rings for conference championships.CAA Flagship wrote: Meh. We will just bring up the memories of the dunkfest we enjoyed at the Siegel Center last year and the CAA Championship win.
Have you ever even made it to a caa semifinal?

Well, UD won 3 CAA championships in 2010-2011 (FB, MLAX & Volleyball) vs. ODU's 2 championships (MBB & field hockey).ODUfanRazor wrote:You'd probably throw a ticker tape parade for any UD team that won a caa championship.

Re: Richmond at Old Dominion
Ha, here is the funny part......ODU didn't participate is any of those 3 sports in the CAA last year. This year, ODU has already won a CAA championship in field hockey.henfan wrote:Well, UD won 3 CAA championships in 2010-2011 (FB, MLAX & Volleyball) vs. ODU's 2 championships (MBB & field hockey).ODUfanRazor wrote:You'd probably throw a ticker tape parade for any UD team that won a caa championship.

And like I said, we will be making the NCAA playoffs in both FH, men's soccer and football as all of our teams in those sports are nationally ranked.
How many teams from UD will make the playoffs this year? Ok then.

Re: Richmond at Old Dominion
A little bit of pre-ejaculation there, Smacky. Didn't your second place men's kickball team just lose consecutive games to North-freaking-Eastern and JMU? And your FH team hasn't qualified for anything yet. Let's see how they do in the CAA tournament. And your FB team is quite capable of losing 2 in a row and dropping out of contention for an at-large bid. You might want to wait before making any bold proclamations.
So the count is ODU (1 FH regular season championship) and UD zero. Congrats on the dominating us in conference play.

back on topic, it looks like Corp WILL PLAY from what I'm seeing...he was listed as #1 on the two-deep depth chart in the richmond notes...
Also I believe this game has not sold out yet because when one goes to the odu athletics website there is a link people can click on to purchase tickets...must mean that A) Richmond didn't use their allotment and/or B) student tickets havent sold out....
Also weather forecast is for a high of 56, 20% chance of rain, with winds at 19 mph.

Is that correct? I'm sure UR fans did not buy their entire allotment and many were probably returned. That 130 may represent tickets returned from them.CAA Flagship wrote:Students left 130 tickets on the table..ODUalum11 wrote:back on topic, it looks like Corp WILL PLAY from what I'm seeing...he was listed as #1 on the two-deep depth chart in the richmond notes...

Re: Richmond at Old Dominion
hmmm I dont know....I think Richmond will definitely cover that spread by looking at the conference results of both teams...while Richmond has lost numerous close games in conference, ODU has won numerous nailbiters as well...even lost a couple heartbreakers (UD and Towson).CAA Flagship wrote:Old Dominion favored by 8-1/2. Of course I got asked to work today from about 3-10 tonight so I'm gonna miss the game.
The marquee match-up in this game is ODU's pass defense vs. UR's pass offense...but of course that's not an earth shattering analysis...

Nice win for ODU today.
I know that it's a little premature, but good luck in the playoffs. I hope you guys get a home game.

I see you play UR next week. They are solid offensively. Todays' game was strange given that the wind was gusting to 35-40 regularly yet Aaron corp threw for over 250, 3TD, 1 pick. Taylor Heinicke bested him though throwing for over 375 with 3 TD, 0 picks.
I don't know the status of Aaron Corp. On the Spider's second to last offensive play of the game Corp sustained a fierce hit by LB Craig Wilkins. Corp eventually left the field under his own power so I'm assuming he will start next week. I will just say that Corp doesn't need to bother setting his clock back tonight!
Good luck the rest of the way.

That one handed TD catch from Richmond at 2:21 was pretty awesome. It even made the espn top 10 last night.

Re: Richmond at Old Dominion
My take from the game:
UR did a good job pass blocking on Saturday, but has not done a good job all year run blocking. UR has some talented players. With a few bounces going their way, their record could be much better.
I was surprised to see UR countiuously line up offensively from a tight formation though. IMO, with those receivers and Corp, spreading things out would have put much more pressure on our defense.
