Mistake in hiring Curry--a "name" with little on the field results, instead of a hungry, up and comer that would build the right way.

Tell me again how many 1A transfers they have?

These guys are unbelievable. The thing is, they still believe they are getting an invitation to a BCS conference regardless of how they play in FCS.

Man, I wish they weren't in the CAA.

ATLANTA, GA ------ The President of Georgia State University has announced that the two year experiment known as football will come to an end immediately. The announcement was made during a post game interview after the Panthers lost to Division II West Alabama. When asked about his feelings towards the decision, head coach Bill Curry said that he is "in shock". "I thought I was better than I am", said Curry. "I thought I could recruit well here even though the school is crappy and the athletic department is worse. And if I couldn't recruit well, I thought I could coach the team up to a competitive level. The game has clearly passed me by."

When the news broke on campus of the sudden demise of Georgia State football, the football crazed students were upset with the decision. All four of them stopped playing their video games long enough to surf the internet for the news, but returned quickly to the action after getting the confirmation. "Meh, if I cared about football, I would have never gone to Georgia State to begin with", said sophomore Mitch Cumstein, a native of Valdosta majoring in Interior Home Decorating.

Who wants to be that Georgia State doesn't win a CAA in 2012 and loses all of their games by 40 points minimum? They aren't prepared for the CAA and are in a much worst position than Towson when they joined the CAA in 2004. I do admit it makes what ODU is doing in football all the more impressive. To be in the playoffs in their first conference year is very impressive and probably unrepeatable in FCS.

Yeah, I'm not sure about GSU winning a game in the CAA next year either...I'm not sure who they are returning but I like to believe that this year's teams in the CAA will only get better. While defense will be a concern next year with ODU, they return some core guys (Burnette, Wilkins, Turner) secondary gets older with Lewis and Cowart and they pretty much return all their skill guys on offense (Goodwyn, Harper, Evans, Vaughan, Pinkard, Heinicke). Towson will return Enders and West so I don't see TU being down at all next year. Plus you can always count on Maine, UNH, Delaware being very competitive. Just looked at their roster and they graduate 22 seniors...

You might as well just start another thread titled "Georgia State falls to Campbell". If they can't beat NAIA and D-2 schools in consecutive weeks they are certainly not gonna beat Campbell who is a pretty decent team this year. ....except they did allow Valpo to snap their 29-game losing streak. :o   :ohno:

As I have said repeatedly, Georgia State will not have a football program in 5 years.

Lmao here are a couple more memorable quotes....

These quotes took place before, during, and after the CAA men's soccer quarterfinal game between ODU and Georgia State....
Please beat these SOBs in something.
I'm really beginning to despise ODU.
Beginning?! What took so long?

I hate ODU. I hate Norfolk. Worst city in the world. Hate that school. Hate their teams. I thought I hated VCU, but ODU takes the cake...
I only hate them because they always beat us.
I think thats why many of the conference teams hate them!
Rooting for them in the FCS National Championship.... makes our loss look legit.
If you're an ODU fan you gotta like that last one. :D :thumb:

I think the one fanbase who gets the most satisfaction out of the lessergsu's struggles are ODU fans...they constantly bash and yet compare themselves to the Monarchs but they can't even win their own games. And yet while they want to fire all the coaches and clean house they want to keep CBC because he gives the program and school some publicity. I will give them the benefit of the doubt however as they are starting to come around and start to realize what ODU has done in 3 years isn't easy.

Georgia State is not CAA-caliber in most sports.

Why were they added during the latest expansion?

Too bad this is not "College Survivor" and we could vote them off the island. I'd take Liberty over GSU without hesitation.

A whore will spread her legs for anyone if the price is right.

They played Bama in year one.

And they have lost to a D2 and NAiA in year two.

They have no business in our league.

dude, they'll be lucky if they score a TD...in two games against FBS opponents their only TD has come on a fluke special teams return.

The ironic thing is that GSU's only D1 win this season was against a transitional FBS team. It was also South Alabama's only loss to a non-FBS program ever. Go figure.

South Alabama fans must feel like complete $%^& now. They must think "man, we're moving to a mediocre (at best) FBS conference where we're gonna get no publicity AT ALL and we can't beat a freakin' FCS team who can't beat NAIA and D-2 teams consistently.

So lets see the lesser GSU has now lost to Lambuth, St. Francis and now West Alabama.

Rapid Fire Question, who's worse? Valpo or Georgia State?!

My favorite part of all this is how they think that eventually they'll catch up, due to the natural advantages of, well, I don't exactly know. But anyway, why hasn't this happened in basketball? Maybe they should play in the Ga Dome too.
