Oh, and we almost forgot. This weekend’s game is for a share of the final Great West Conference Championship ever. Winner gets a share along with Cal Poly, loser takes 3rd place. The recruiting implications are there as well. There should be a bunch of recruits watching this game tomorrow at the Alerus Center.
Game time is 1pm on Saturday at the Alerus Center. The game can be seen on DirecTV FCS 617 and also on the FSSN.
This game is going to be close, UND is favored by 2 points. 4000 tickets remain as of yesterday afternoon but there usually is a good walk up crowd to snatch the rest. I am pumped for this game, all packed up and headed to Grand Forks. I told my son this game is going to be like nothing he has ever seen for Sioux football (we went to the Black Hills State game earlier this year). There was over 12,400 people for the UND-USD game in 2009 so it should be a great game. The only teams that have never won or shared the GWFC title is Northern Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota....one of Dakota teams will be off that list. GO NORTH DAKOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
