Gotta give credit to GSU's offense. It did not leave any room for error for our offense to "more than compensate".
Couple of things that did not pan out.
1. GSU kick returner. We avoided him early but we were able to contain him once we started to kick deep.
2. GSU kicker missing 2 PAT's.
3. Russell (Mangoatferret). It is obvious that he is a player. I watched for him to shine but he didn't. I figured that we would have to double team him for this to happen, but when I did watch the line play (admittedly not that often), I didn't see double teams. Curious what others think on their observations of this as mine was limited.

With Maine beating Appy, ODU lost an opportunity to host a quarterfinal game. The game would have pitted the teacher (Cosgrove) versus the pupil (Wilder) as a subtitle.

Regarding Wilder's rant, meh, I want a coach that fights for his team. Beats having a figurehead like Curry standing on the sideline having someone wipe drool from his chin.

It's clear that ODU will have to improve at MLB and Safety positions. We have not gotten good play from those positions all year and I don't know if it is because of the players or the coaching.

Congrats to GSU again. I really enjoy watching that style of offense run. Love the uniforms also. Somewhat disappointed in your crowd though. But maybe that was because of the unknown (in FCS world) team you were playing. I would expect a bigger crowd when the two play again after this highly entertaining game.
Russell had decent stats given the amount of passing ODU did. He had seven tackles, 1 sack and 1.5 taclkles for loss. On teh ODU side, Cameron only had three tackles.
Cameron lined up as an end often which is unusual. My guess is that GSU wisely ran to the opposite side.

Okay. I read most of this thread. Some of you people are a bunch of whiney ass****s (mostly those Delaware turds).

That being said, I also love the total lack of respect that all of you people are giving ODU. That's nothing to us but locker room material. ODU scores and scores and scores and scores and scores....but the REFS caused that? Bull****!

Our defense will improve. I guarantee it. You nasty Delaware fans should come down to Forman Field next year to watch your guys get their asses kicked. Bank on that one.

To the GSU fans I would like to ask why you couldn't just be good winners instead of trashing ODU. All you did was make it hard on yourselves when we meet again (locker room material for future consideration).

To end my involvement in this thread: Kudos to GSU for their win. It was a hard fought contest that was mostly offense (which I personally found to be very entertaining). The GSU fans at the game were very decent to our fans (except for a couple of idiots that I convinced it wouldn't be very smart to pursue their intended nastiness). They gave the visitors pretty nice seats as well. We had a great weekend there (except of the final score of course).

We'll see you all in the playoffs next year. :thumb:

You truly do not understand the general "tone" of this site. Most of the smack talk is just good natured ribbing. This is not the CAAZone. ODU has rightfully earned respect from most of the regular posters here.

Don't drag the other Delaware fans in with me. I'm just trying to drum up a rivalry here, along with alligator shirt bitch down there at your tier 2 ghetto/commuter school.

You guys have done well so far, recruiting well and toning the scheduling way down to allow yourself incremental success. Now your challenge is to maintain it, likely in a CAA that will return to its past form in the next couple of years. I see a lot of you anointing your team the best thing to happen to FCS since sliced bread. Hey, it might be, but then again, Heinicke could turn a knee in spring practice next year. Thems the breaks. No season is a guarantee before it starts.

So, if I understand you--ODU not keeping up with GSU's offense means GSU is superior. GSU not keeping up with ODU's offense means their were some "serious breakdowns"?

GSU has a great team. Great blockers. GSU will win the National Championship. I don't think they'll see an offense like ours the rest of the way.

The refs let you get away with that sh*t all game long. I hope they finally start calling it against Maine or it will be a very long game for them as well.

Tell that nasty c*ck gobbling mom of yours to start washing her cooter after I'm done with her, it's really starting to get smelly down there. And when you can smell a woman's cooter over the general stench of Delaware, you KNOW it's bad.

Can't wait to watch your little girly football team get thrashed next year by a far superior team, which ODU will be yet again next year and then see you make excuses for why we finished ahead of you yet again.

You really should just learn to shut that little girly mouth because it really just embarrasses Delaware every time you post.

My continual references to their Tier 2 status draws them to new depths with each and every post. Excellent!

Not really. Even Mr. Cameron can't make tackles when he's blocked to the ground.

:tothehand: Perhaps you are not use to 5 receivers going downfield for a pass. We were not intimidated by ManGoatFerret and knew we didn't need any more than our front 5 to pass protect.

Excellent point. GSU wasn't accustomed to the five receiver look. And let's face it, the ODU WR were very skilled. Here's the bottom line. I'm going to a football game tomorrow at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro and you're sitting at home wondering what if.......
