This comes as no surprise. I think that it has become abundantly clear to every FCS AD that to invite the bright lights and national attention of ESPN in prime time is to invite the inevitable comparisons to the chiseled-from-stone gladiators of Montana, and the magnificent Coliseum in which they vanquish their foes. NDSU and the absurd enclosure in which they play being featured on Friday would have represented a significant step backwards in terms of the way in which the country perceives FCS football.
We have much to disagree about on this forum, no doubt. Many fans, representing many different schools. Certainly, however, we can agree on this: THE Montana Grizzlies and the astonishing marvel that is Washington-Grizzly Stadium represent the absolute pinnacle of all that the FCS can be. A shining star to which every other program is welcome to hitch their wagon. Maroon and Silver coattails to which the rest of the FCS is invited to cling!
Oh Montana, You are Marvelous!

ESPN lost. They blinked. They wanted NDSU on their terms. They got Sam Houston State. Montana doesnt have anything to do with this. :thumb:

The BIG GAME is SATURDAY: GSU @ NDSU BISON*

The Jr. Bowl is Friday. Montana @ SAM HOUSTON*. Nice lead-in game. Should be entertaining.

I think we both know that there is very, very little that happens in the FCS that Montana doesn't have anything to do with.

Surely you jest! THE University of Montana is located in the fantastically beautiful and incomparable city of Missoula. An important, bustling berg that has been referred to in culinary circles as "the Paris of the United States"! It has become now to fashion what New York City used to be! The film industry has recently become aware of the tremendous benefits to be gained by a more pronounced Missoula presence, and an exodus out of Hollywood has begun! The women are beautiful, the men are handsome, and every child tests well above the national average!
Oh Missoula, You are Marvelous!!

I don't think any school has the right or ability to say no to ESPN. It's in the contract. Had ESPN wanted that game on Friday, I assume it would have been on Friday. Montana will now be on ESPN two weeks in a row. Montana is a much better national draw than the other three schools, and SHS is the number 1 seed and undefeated, and looked good and exciting in their win on Saturday. Feel free to show us a link to a legitimate article, though. How many people graduate and go thru ceremonies in December?

Give it up Bear. Its not Lakes, its not anything, its NDSU and Sam Houston State. What in the world would anybody care about Montana? They are a travel bitch. Cannon fodder for the big team. The pig with lip stick.

Sam Houston State got the Friday night ESPN game not Montana. The Jr. Bowl is nationwide!!

This entire playoff is now about NDSU. They told ESPN to go fuck themselves. The jr bowl is Friday. The BIG GAME: GSU @ NDSU BISON* is Saturday.

When it comes to interfering with graduations, it doesn't matter to SHSU if the game is Friday OR Saturday. There's a commencement Friday night and another one on Saturday. Parking is going to be a b!tch either day with the Johnson Coliseum just across the parking lot from Bowers Stadium.

Ha! Your foolish ramblings are growing more incoherent by the minute, and yet, I continue to twist the knife! Your cries for mercy fall upon deaf ears! Give it up? In these types of situations, I ask myself, "what would Robin Plugrad do"? Of course, understanding the methods and motivations of such genius is not an easy matter, but of one thing I am certain...give it up He would not! By God, nor shall I!

This is just fking stupid. You don't pass up that exposure. The only reason the Bison said Saturday was to get another day to prepare for the triple option. Either way, it was stupid.

The only way one truly prepares for GSU's triple option is by inserting ever-larger-in-diameter devices into one's anus...!

Given a bit of time to consider this truth, I'm curious to know how the NDSU "defense" has been "preparing" for GSU's Offense. Let's put it this way...I don't think I'd recommend buying "used" Maglights off of the Fargo Craigslist site any time soon...

Lakes is an effin Moron. Not only was Graduation more important but this also gives the coaching staff an additonal day to prepare.

LOL! NDSU is smart. They don't want their loss to be seen by that many people.

I thought Sat afternoon is consider a higher viewership time slot for ESPN than Fri night? 2 years ago the William & Mary @ Nova game was Fri night and the much bigger ASU @ Montana was Sat afternoon.

The NDSU game should be a nice lead in to the Carroll College game :thumb:

The difference is that game was on ESPN proper, whereas NDSU is on ESPNWho?

Yeah. That's why Friday night's game is on ESPN and "the big game' is on ESPNU.
