We just unofficially announced that we recruited a couple players for 2012 that will solidify our deep run in the next round of playoffs. In the meantime, EWU will miss the playoffs again, as usual, in 2012 because they'll still be in hangover mode thinking about 2010. :tothehand:
Good thing our fans aren't suiting up or coaching. BTW, we've missed the playoffs 3 times since 2003 and have one National Championship. I'm guessing that's pretty similar to your record. :coffee:

kalm, please remove the hook and remember to avoid the wiggly, shiny things you see coming across the screen. I'm only looking for the big, dumb basses.

And hey, who told the Flagg dude about this here hole? :x

You sure are right about those pesky SEC teams, course me looking at that nice little History section, kind seems to me that those CAA boys had something similiar going. Of course by this thread all it will take will be one year when the SEC doesn't make it and that'll be a wash and we can proclaim them DEAD as well.

I'm just an outsider here, but it's one thing for a ref to blow a call. A call is call. It's another to not have the proper crew cost a team a victory. And by most accounts, you didn't get that yard. Now that's just criminal. I wonder if they made sure they had that chain gang in place this year, or if they too thought it was just no big deal. Not that I mind though, it made for good misery to read. And it was damn interesting.

But this playoff system and selection, I've been reading about it, since you brought it up. Isn't the head of the selection committe and employee of a certain Big Sky Conference? That might be a conflict of interest.

Was it really the top 20 ranked teams that made the playoffs? I don't think so.

And how bout that MEAC getting an automatic bid. Seems to me they haven't shown up in quite sometime. So, is the playoff system you have, really the best?
This thread is about ready to take off.

Don't go there BF. Hens fans have been remarkably good about not bringing that play up and the Hens should have still been able to hang on without that call, but please don't pretend he made the first down. :tothehand:

Little black birdie is mad about the playoffs. I like playoffs, think now that we are free and clear and with our QB back, we might do well in the playoffs. But don't pretend this is flawless. And I suppose DIII is bogus as well, what with Mount Union and Whitewater making it every year.

Randumb Fagg brought it up, I personally don't care bc the game has been in the books for over a year now. Furthermore, if you read through my statement carefully, you will notice I said "THE REFS DECIDED EWU'S RUNNING BACK MADE THE FIRST DOWN." I never stated if I PERSONALLY felt Mario Brown made the first down. :coffee:

You can argue that he didn't make it and I can argue that he did all we want, and the bottom line is we'll never know because of the shitty chain work. I honesty thought he made that first down, but I can also see how people felt maybe he didn't. But isn't this the reason we have replay? If they can't get it right after no less than three different reviews, then what's the point?

Either way, blaming a loss on one play is weak, as is not giving credit to your opponent. The reality is UD got a lead, tried to play conservative, and got blown out in the 4th qtr. You don't try and sit on a lead against a big play team.

Why it's my pal little black birdie...glad you took my advice and changed your avatar. Your welcome.

A fella once told me if a man, or a birdie, starts tossing out names, then you must have hurt his feelings. Or in this case, ruffled some feathers. I personally couldn't care any less who won that game. I was just pointing out that there's some MAJOR problems with your system. Refs made a call after the chain gang muffed up the spot. Mistakes happen, but they weren't even real crew. Why that be like making a chain gang honorary refs and having them determine a game.
I personally like how you ignore my questions and revert to coffee. It keeps me amused.

I agree the prevent only prevents you from winning. Your better at this than the birdie. But he's fun to play with.

You're wrong on both accounts.

It was a blown spot (as evidenced by the fact that they moved the ball after review) and then they effed up the replacing of the chains as CLEARLY shown by video and still evidence. Rather irrefutable (make sure to note my saying once again that play didn't cost UD the game)...

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21411&start=50#p429512

And as I said, 99% of the Hen fans have stated over and over that the one play can't be blamed for the loss and did credit EWU. Most were extremely cordial...

Still bitching and moaning about a game that was played over a year ago. You are better than this...I would hope.

Kudo's to the hen fans on the issue because they had far more of a beef during that run than certain other fanbases.

ZERO meaningful games were played last year? REALLY? THE ENTIRE YEAR?

No sir, I believe you don't get it. While dropping the L and the G in Flagg was just so incredibly clever; I'm more interested in whether or not you think it's wrong to be homosexual. Just curious. But man, did you stick it to me.

Both EWU and UD should be furious that they were put in that position to begin with. It helped EWU, but it could have very easily blownup their face as well. It's an NC game and a Fantastic game at that. The only reason why this story didn't make more of a stink is because it was the FCS not the FBS. That is nonsense; and the teams deserved better. I like the FCS very much, and would like the FBS to follow suit; it needs to follow suit. But the playoffs on this level could be better.

Playoffs and officiating at every level could be better. FCS is still a more legitimate process.

Without question the FCS is more legit. I didn't have a problem with the officiating; you're right on that one good sir. But they didn't even give you boys the proper staff. I don't know if that's the NCAA, the school officials, the AD's, or what. But that ain't right. And right's right. That was a hell of a game, you just hate seeing it go that way.

I do like me some playoffs.

Which will set up a great rematch in Norfolk on October 27th. The Hens and Tigers have some hell to pay next season.
