2013 is a year they allow 12 games. This is the first 12 game schedule Cal Poly has ever had. Helps when you have 8 conference games instead of only 4. I am loving the Big Sky.EWURanger wrote:12 games? Sweet.

I think they beat Portland and hold tough with Colorado State. But it is 2 years in the future, lots can happen.AZGrizFan wrote:Home vs University of San Diego (W)

Re: Cal Poly's 2013 schedule. AWESOME
I think AZ hits the nail on the head here. But CP is to be congratulated for this schedule. It's certainly a step up from the days in the late '90s when they were an undefeated team that got snubbed due to their lack of schedule. I particularly like how they conned Yale into coming out for a game.
Though I think they lose to Sac. LOL. (Well, I HOPE they do, anyway.) They might balance that out with a win over Portland State.

'bout time you got into a decent conference; well, since the Griz and you are in it, then it's a decent conference. All else considered = ?SloStang wrote: 2013 is a year they allow 12 games. Do you find it a plus or a minus to have a bye week towards the beginning of the year instead of the middle? Our bye week is right before the last game of the year. I am not too fond of that.SloStang wrote:BTW Cal Poly's 2012 schedule ain't bad either.

I would prefer the bye between about the 4th and 7th game. I am just happy it is not the first week of the season.Darell1976 wrote:Do you find it a plus or a minus to have a bye week towards the beginning of the year instead of the middle? I didn't even know that Ivy schools played those sort of road games. but then, I've never really paid much attention to that league.

Re: Cal Poly's 2013 schedule. AWESOME
Looks to me like your toughest 2012 games will be roadies @ Weber, @ EWU, and (hopefully) @ Sac. I see a reasonable argument for AT LEAST 8-3, if not a complete sweep. In fact, CP at 11-0 with THIS schedule would not surprise me in the least, and THIS time there will be no question of a playoff snub as there was during the late '90s. You've DEFINITELY figured out how to schedule OOC so as not to schedule oneself out of the playoffs (either through no challege as CP of the '90s/San Diego of the mid-2000s or through overscheduling like Weber of late).
Now, of course, comes the truly important part: actually playing the games.
