He might go in the late rounds. Good size and athletic. He had a great year. I thought he might get a combine invite.STEP2DMB wrote:is there any buzz about Paul Cornick?

I would be shocked if didn't get drafted. What are the possible knocks on him by scouts?SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:He might go in the late rounds. Good size and athletic. He had a great year. I thought he might get a combine invite.STEP2DMB wrote:is there any buzz about Paul Cornick?

Late bloomer who didn't have a big year until 2011. Good enough athlete but not super athletic. Not great at anything but solid all around. Raw but has tools.STEP2DMB wrote:I would be shocked if didn't get drafted. What are the possible knocks on him by scouts?SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:

Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
The two safeties from SC State(Richard,Thompson) look like second day draft picks and the Jets and Giants need help at that position and too bad LeGree was a transfer(Syracuse) instead of a four-yr player at Hampton would have increased his draft status. He at 6-4 230 has definite NFL size to play QB and arm strength to go along with it.I think the two safeties were invited to post season bowl games.SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:Here is a list of guys, by school, who are worth looking out for as all-star games and the draft approaches:

He's been around so long that our offensive coaching brain trust forgot he was still on the team.AZGrizFan wrote:Was just REALLY wierd to see him in the Michigan game, then in the 2009 playoff game in Missoula to only be a sophomore...dude just was one of those players who seemed to be around for-EVER.SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:

DE Mike Ebbitt - TXST
Scouts took a liking to him when they were down scouting DJ Hall.
Has been in 1 post season all star game
probably Free Agent.
It's a guessing game

Some the guys on the AGS board said Quick was struggling, but with that dude's physical abilities I can't see how he'd go highre than what Barden went. Of course with what Barden has accomplished, that might hurt him. I'd love to see Quick on the Gmen.

Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
The big difference in Quick and Barden is that scouts believe Quick will run high 4.4s while Barden ran high 4.5s. I think Quick goes 3rd if he runs 4.58 or so but if he runs a 4.48 he is going in the 2nd round.HenZoneNation wrote:Some the guys on the AGS board said Quick was struggling, but with that dude's physical abilities I can't see how he'd go highre than what Barden went. Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
Jantzen Jackson has declared for the draft after spending one season as a Tennessee transfer at McNeese. I assume he must think he's got a shot to be drafted.

He does. He has been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine so apparently some NFL teams do too.JohnStOnge wrote:Jantzen Jackson has declared for the draft after spending one season as a Tennessee transfer at McNeese. I assume he must think he's got a shot to be drafted.

Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
Joe Greene was the Pittsburgh Scout at our Pro Day (1 of 11 teams repped) and he liked what he saw of DJ Hall.
Would hate to see Pittsburgh take him but I won't begrudge wherever he goes.
Got lucky this year. Scheduled same days as UT so the Scouts went there in the morning and drove the 28 miles to TXST for the afternoon.

SmallCollegeFBFan,
Any word on Jake Trantin's stock? He showed well in the two all-star games, but had a so-so proday.
