HHS (Petrinos went to CHS).

I should add that I've never met their dad (Bob Petrino, Sr.), but he was a very highly regarded HC at Carroll College for years and years. My low opinion of his sons isn't meant to reflect at all on him. :notworthy:
Many people have low opinions of Bobby & Paul jr. and in fact even Bob Sr. Coach (Sr.) was a gruff dude and that rubbed a lot of people wrong but I had lots of friends play for him and they almost all loved the dude so that's all I need to know.

We went to the same high school at around the same time it appears so we probably know each other or at least know of each other. That's kinda funny cuz when reading some of your posts I noticed a sort of Helena/Butte type humor twist on things.

Nice! Always good to run into a fellow Bengal ('88 here).

Yeah, never met Bob Sr., but was a big Saints fan growing up, and loved watching games at Vigilante Stadium. Doesn't surprise me that he had a bit of a reputation himself (and certainly explains to some extent the entitled and abrasive attitudes of his kids, eh?). Probably those same qualities that made Bob Sr. and his boys great coaches.
At any rate, safe to say that I'm no fan of the idea of a Petrino stalking the sidelines of Wa-Griz.

Cocky more than entitled. Both produced though even if they aren't real popular in some circles due to attitude. I think it kind of takes some of that tude to do what they do.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure neither of them would be fans of walking the sidelines here either.

I had the misfortune to grow up with the Petrinos in Helena, and can say with some authority that both Bobby and Paul (his younger brother and OC at Arkansas) are Class A D-Bags. With any luck, our great state is rid of these guys for good.
Having dealt with the Petrino clan while they were at Carroll, I agree they are all D-Bags (Class A as you put it). Probably inherited it from their father, who was one of the biggest I've known. Actually, Bobby seemed to be the nicest of the bunch (but still a classic d-bag).

Haven't read through the entire thread, so not sure if his name has been mentioned. But why not Paul Wulff? He's a good coach, despite his struggles at WSU. Not sure if I'd want to have to face one of his teams every season, but I think he'd be a good choice.

Yep, he had a very good run at Eastern with playoffs wins, BSC championships, and a win at WGS and all of this despite the lack of resources in Cheney which, ironically, also had quite a bit to do with the NCAA problems.

Lack of resources in relation to the Griz yes, but if you're meaning the lack of resources due to the NCAA sanctions, those came after Wulff left and Baldwin had to thrive without them.

I'm referring to the lack of a full time compliance officer during the Wulff era. I think it was a side gig for some anthropology professor or an electrician at the physical plant.

Since it ain't gonna happen at UNI, maybe Mark Farley can be lured there. Runs a clean program, is a winner.
